Seems like squad filler tbh, we're not short of players in that position at he'll be 22 by the time he's actually available to us.
Yep

If st mirren get promoted I expect him to be loaned back there for the whole of next season too

Doesn't look particularly quick in the video.

Aside from that, don't know anything about him but I'd be surprised if a 22-year-old St Mirren player is going to improve us against CL opposition.

Guess we'll find out in time.

Good player and probably be Sinclairs backup.

Looking forward to him scoring against the Huns for us.

He's 22. Bit old and probably won't improve our squad much.

The key phrase from this interview is that he is saying we don't expect to do much business in January. :nono:

Here we again. Don't do much strengthening in January. Don't get players in before the CL qualifiers (assuming we win the league). Lottery as to whether we qualify. If we don't we don't buy. If we do we make a few half arsed attempts at signings and before you know it the window closes but we tried. Repeat each year.

Strange one IMO

We have Rogic, Armstrong, Ntcham, McGregor, Christie returning etc etc that can play the AMC spot - if we are going to strengthen it should be with someone that are better than those, don't see Morgan as such

he can play out wide, isn't better than Forrest IMO, not anywhere near the quality of Roberts - If/when Roberts is leaving we would have Forrest with Morgan as backup, as good as Forrest has been this season, it is a serious downsizing of the team

Morgan is hardly a kid anymore, will be 22 when he joins in the summer, he would need regular football to progress not to sit on the bench only playing when Forrest is out injured or we have 3 of the players that can play AMC out

--

that said hoping that he will blow everybody away and progress to becoming a class player
Armstrong wont be here much longer, McGregor hasn't been good at all in there lately and Ntcham hasn't played in that position once since arriving. Which leaves Rogic and Christie, with Rogic having been injured for much of the season and Christie not been at the club for around a year.
so take 4½ of our current players out of the picture and you feel that Morgan have a chance of making it to the bench?

brendan rates him really highly, doubt very much he will be out on loan next season. hes much better on the wing and has played there mostly this season so he wont be competing with the central players

hes 21. half expecting him to be 25 by the end of the page

He's young, he's Scottish, he's cheap and he's apparently pretty good.

I'm not sure exactly how he fits into the squad next year, but I'm sure Brendan Rodgers has some thoughts on that.

He's spent the majority of his career playing on the left. We don't have a great deal of alternatives to Sinclair there.

Forrest, Roberts and Hayes are better off the right (and Roberts will be gone by the time Morgan arrives). Christie has played more centrally and on the right recently (if he is even back at Celtic at all), and the others mentioned occupy central and/or more deeper positions.

Plenty of people wanted McGinn signed when he was plodding along in the Championship he this seems to not have been as welcomed.

Hmmm.

Very underwhelming to be honest,if he was good enough to be playing for us there is no chance he would be being loaned back to St Mirren.

Ffs Lawell spend some money and move the club forwards

Text my mate who's a St Mirren fan for his thoughts;

"He's excellent. Probably the most exciting prospect we've had recently including McGinn, McLean etc. He could be a superstar as he's quick skillful and scores.

If he had more than 6 months on his contract I reckon he'd be going for a 7 figure sum. You're getting him on the cheap

He's essentially got us to the top of the table. Take him out and we won't win the league."

Hmmm.
The fee for Morgan is reported as £300,000 plus add ons, and loaning him back to St Mirren immediately.

Lennon, despite the obvious PR bit trying to drive interest, is talking about McGinn being a £4m player. Whatever McGinn ends up going for it will end up being considerably more than £300k+.

Add the fact that we've got about a million midfielders, all of whom either recently recruited or with recently lengthened contracts, and there's a major difference. We don't need another midfielder in McGinn's price range (and I am much bigger fan of his than many on here). We arguably need a better one.
