Maybe it’s just me but a “calf injury” and out for a month ? Really ? There’s not even an indication that he’s pulled his calf.

Bit of deep heat on it, stretch it off, maybe take a few days off training and go for a swim. Then get your arse back training. Modern footballers are soft as shampooe. Out for weeks and months at a time for knocks and niggles. Roy Keane called it spot on with this kind of thing.

Frustration not all aimed at Compper btw, just our injury situation in particular as well as the prima-donna attitude of modern football players. Spare me the pushing themselves to the limit patter as well.
Whatever happened to that magic sponge. That used to work everytime.

Disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing how good he was.

If there’s one positive hopefully it’s that we’ll act with more urgency in the market to get another centre half in.

Not sure what Keane said that you are talking about but Keane also said that the foreign players he played with would rule themselves out of games/training and he'd think they were soft but it wasn't until later in his career that he realised they were 100% right to do so. He specifically mentioned Van Nistelrooy being able to play in La Liga at 37 whilst he was finished at 32 with a broken body.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 3-4 weeks is exaggerated and is just giving him a bit more time to get to know his team mates before bringing him in to the team. We are so far ahead in the league that we don't need to rush him into the first 11. God forbid he came in on Saturday and made a mistake - maybe it's a bit of protection for the player as well as just making sure he is 100% fit.

The injury may just be a ruse to fool the notoriously cunning Brechin manager, Darren Dodds.
