Can see right away why a manager like Rodgers would want him on board.

Hopefully can do his talking on the pitch. Fed up of the players who talk good games but don't contribute where it matters.

Glutton free, lactose free. No surprise given how Brendan feels about being a 24 hour athlete. The standards of the man!!

Think he will be a terrific player for us, on and off the park.
Ajer and Ralston will benefit in particular.
Looking forward to seeing a more settled and reliable defence.

MARVIN COMPPER has revealed where he thinks Celtic would finish in the Bundesliga – and has shown an impressive knowledge of his new club.

The stopper was snapped up by Brendan Rodgers in a £1million deal from RB Leipzig.

In a Q&A about his new employers on German website Sportbuzzer, the defender was able to name the Hoops’ record appearance holder and how many leagues and cups they have won.

Compper also revealed he has already read new gaffer Brendan Rodgers’ biography and is looking forward to life in Glasgow.

On Celtic’s placing in the German top flight, he said: “From places five to seven. We have a really good mix.”

The 32-year-old showed he has done his homework on his new club as he was quizzed on the Scottish champions.

Asked who has made the most appearances for the club with 822 games? he said: “Billy McNeill. He was captain in 1967 when Celtic won the European Cup in Lisbon. The Celtic fans always sing about that day in the 67th minute.

“Celtic have won 48 championships and 37 Scottish Cups.

“It is part of dealing with an employer who knows history.

“I also read Brendan Rodgers’ biography. He was an ardent Celtic fan from an early age, lives and loves this club.

“I’ve got a very good feeling about signing. Celtic play a similar style to RB Leipzig. Standing high, no senseless balls forward and pressing.

“My family and I are looking forward to Glasgow. Goodbye, Leipzig!”

Compper also said he was impressed with Rodgers’ attention to detail during a breakfast meeting.

He added: “I was invited to his home for breakfast.

“There was gluten-free bread and lactose-free cereal. He then showed me an eight-page expose about me. He knew everything about me.

“He knew my taste for healthy food and even the age of my wife and children.”

The gluten and lactose free stuff was for Compper, as that is his diet. It's included as part of the attention to detail of Rodgers approach.

No wonder Kris commons is jealous.
Brendan invited Kris round for dinner and he rocked up with a Nando's.

Aye, chances of Commons turning up to Rodgers house to be greeted with a Nando's was pretty low

Given his role and age, I'd say he could be a Majstorovic or a Toure. And I hope he can be better than both were at Celtic!

He's on a 2 and a half year deal so a bit longer term than those 2, who were just stop gaps really.

Lactose free isn't usually advised by health professionals as part of an athlete's diet. It's more likely an intolerance or even simply a personal preference for Compper. Likewise gluten free.

So not so much an example of BR's focus on "24-hour athletes" but rather how he goes out of his way to know players, make them feel welcome them etc.
