He’s a player who needs to be regularly rotated to get the best out of him but this season he’s played two games a week for months.
God knows what Gamboa’s done that he can’t be trusted to play league games against Thistle, Hamilton, Ross County etc.
Gamboa was another waste of 1 million.
Gamboa has been pretty good domestically and is more than capable of rotating with Lustig.
He was man of the match against Dundee about three months ago but hasn’t been seen since.
Obviously something going on.
That something being that Gamboa is absolutely not good enough.

Gamboa isn't a long term answer but he's a competent footballer and right now Lustig isn't hitting that meagre height.

The main problem with Gamboa is that for most of the games we play Tierney charges forward and Lustig tucks in to make a back three. Gamboa can't really do that. Gamboa would be fine for most domestic games for a short time. He can at least pass the ball four yards, something Lustig has struggled with recently.

I love the mad carrot and he's been a good servant but he is absolutely done now.
Looks like he's being held together by sellotape when he runs.

Legs have gone, he's visibly lost a yard of pace. Given his long history of niggling injuries it's not exactly a surprise. What was surprising was the contract extension, as much as I like(d) Lustig if you were to ask me last year who in the side was closest the end of his shelf life it'd have been Lustig. We ask an awful lot of our full backs and he's just not got the mobility anymore, unless Brendan just forgoes him in an attacking sense I don't think he can stay first choice much longer. He may still be effective in rotation for a season or so with a game a week instead of two, but ideally we'd be moving on from him starting every game.

Gutted to be saying it but he needs replaced. Gamboa is a weird one as he's looked decent to good in most domestic games and yet seems to be totally out of the picture.

Said on Saturday that he had a poor game but was shot down because he had contributed to the goals. Last night only underlined that at the moment he is not in a good place. I'm sure he will get back some of what he has but for the longer term he isn't the answer.

I'm not convinced, Gamboa has looked pretty crap to me.

He hasn't been as good this season as he was last season, but then other than Brown & Tierney who has ?
But those saying he "has been crap for months" are talking garbage.
The guy is a solid professional, and ok he had a dodgy game against 'them' just before the winter break, and wasn't great last night.
Still plenty of life left in him, but he needs competition for his place too, and hopefully Ralston will be allowed to provide that.

He looks like he's running in treacle, and has done for a couple of weeks before the break. Whether it's a niggle he's playing through or his legs have gone, he's visibly struggling

Signs have been there since the middle of last season. Concerning that nothing has been done in the meantime.

Tierney hasn’t been as good domestically as he was last season. Forrest has been better this season than last.

And lustig is an absolute liability, should be nowhere near our squad. He has been garbage all season as well.
