You know his nickname, we get it.
He doesn't - it's Micke not Mika. That's been irrationaly getting on my nerves for some time now. :shakefist:
Spoiler: click to toggle
How do you know what way I'm pronouncing "Mika"?

That Lustig article is great, love the big handsome bastard. And ofc Josefin

And from what i have deduced, if you pronounce the Swedish word for seven like Sean Connery then you should be fine :rocker:

We could get his son, Stuart, to do it. He's worked in Sweden a lot.

Right, here goes:

Some things to bear in mind when reading this:

This is a Swedish paper, the odd mistake or misunderstanding with respect to Scottish football will inevitably sneak in.

Steve Galloway, an English football player, actually had a short spell at St Mirren in 1989.

Umeå, where Lustig comes from, is a big ice hockey-town. The Björklöven mentioned in the article = the big ice hockey club in town.

Also, be prepared, the following actually features Gary Ralston speaking very, very highly of a Celtic player

The reporter who wrote the article is Michael Wagner at Aftonbladet. I tend to think that he did a pretty good job of it as well
Superb stuff. Thanks for taking the time to do that. Really enjoyed it.

:theclap:
Thanks mate

Nice to be able to make an actual substantive contribution to the forum for once

He's had to issue a public apology for his 'choice of words' now as well

I've no really bothered with the papers for a few days, but it's turned into a bit of a controversy it seems. Columns by pundits and what not.

It was because of his Mrs

Lustig’s missus Josefin, 27, has now taken him to task on her blog. The couple have two young daughters.

Model Josefin wrote: “Some may have seen that Micke used a gender word after the national anthem before the match.

“Were Micke’s words something I support? No.

Josefin Lustig was not happy with her husband’s bad language
“Is that a word that he or someone else in our family usually uses? Absolutely not.

“I have obviously talked about this with my husband. He says that it was an incredibly stupid word choice.

“But in the heat of the moment it happens that you say things without thinking. We all probably do that.”

Strange. It's not like Sweden to be so pc, especially over something as trivial as sports.

Yes, I'm sure he said it was an incredibly stupid word choice.

The memory of his goal and celebration in the second 5-1 demolition of the hun last season will live in the memory for a very long time every time his name is mentioned. :worthy:
