Sandro Rosell has apparently confessed to buying a black market liver for Eric Abidal's operation.
I remember at the time, Dani Alves had apparently offered to donate part of his liver to him. Not my favourite person, but that was a hell of a gesture.
When Abidal retired, Alves took the #22 shirt as a show of respect for Abidal

Marc Bartra (I think) was right in there to nab Alves' old number

West Belfast club Sport and Leisure Swifts have announced their intention to change their name to Belfast Celtic Football Club.

Belfast Celtic were one of the biggest teams in Irish football before they folded in 1949.

Sport and Leisure, founded 40 years ago, decided to change their name at an AGM on Monday.

The club finished ninth in the Premier Intermediate league last season.

Founded in 1891, Belfast Celtic were the most prominent club in the west of the city during the first half of the 20th century.

Their annual Boxing Day meeting with rivals Linfield gained infamy in 1948 when the match ended with fans streaming onto the field and attacking players.

Belfast Celtic striker Jimmy Jones was left unconscious with a broken leg.

The club's directors then took the decision to withdraw from the league upon conclusion of the season.

Now Sport and Leisure Swifts, currently managed by Pat McAllister, have opted to change their name citing a "desire to improve the club, to improve footballing prospects for young people in West Belfast and to promote a high level of sporting excellence."

"We believe it our duty to represent the footballing community, football fans and current and prospective footballers at the highest level of football available and offered by the IFA."

West Belfast is the only area of the city to not currently have representation in the Irish Premiership.

Despite not legally being a continuation of the club which folded in 1949, the newly-named side have established their desire to represent the same values upheld by the old Belfast Celtic.

"We will look to emulate the passion, professionalism, loyalty, values and history that was evident here in west Belfast 70 years ago.

"We will work closely with the Belfast Celtic Historical Society to ensure that the development of the club is in keeping with the design and ethos of the club that so many cherished and followed."

Great to see the name coming back, worth a trip up to the Roddys if you are ever in Belfast to see more about it

Shay Logan claiming he was racially abused by our fans after he was sent off in May. Seriously bad craic if true.

However, something stinks about the article where he claims he has come to expect it from us.

Surely if he had received all of this abuse in the past he would have highlighted it before now.

For Tonev it was one persons word against another, Logan may find his latest claim a bit harder to come out on top now he seems to be randomly blaming fans.

I hope the club fully investigate this and resolve it one way or another. Either Celtic has an apology to make and some fans kicked out or Logan has to back up his claims or face the consequence of making false accusations.

Considering he's saying he done nothing wrong but he hooked someone in front of thousands of people I'd see he's a complete fantasist

Its been my experience if any celtic fans were shouting racist abuse they would be rounded on by other fans.

If, however, he was simply being called a 'fud' then that's a pretty accurate description

I’m sure if he was being racially abused, our players of non white ethnic backgrounds would just stand there and allow it. He’s a complete floof and is likely to be full of it

Balkan states have a poor track record on racism in football, like many of the former Soviet Union satellites. On the Tonev case, I would not dismiss Logan's case out of hand. But when it is a case of one player's word against another's, it is impossible to prove.

Sleekit wee bastirt.

How is this just coming up now. As already posted I'm sure the Celtic players could have confirmed this and of course all his Aberdeen colleagues will back him up 100%.

Just appears to be a little shampoo of a person.

If he was being subjected to racist abuse I’d have thought he would inform the police, Celtic and Aberdeen at the first opportunity instead of waiting 2 months to bring the news up.

Logan wants to attract headlines. His limited ability means he’s unlikely to do that based on his footballing achievements so he needs to find another way to attract attention. He’ll have Aberdeen fans accepting his rather sketchy version of events without question and he’ll get a weird sense of satisfaction out of that. The creep that he is.

Logan is a bizarre character.

His fascination with trolling us, I don’t get it. I could at least understand if he was remotely high profile.

Best bet is to cheer his every touch or ignore him next time - his head will explode.
