In Portugal the top 4 have their B teams in the 2nd division, Porto B are actually leading in it.
I came across a cracking story there about the 1980 Spanish cup when B teams were allowed to enter.
If they were drawn against their A team then they would be redrawn, the Spanish fa said the only way they could meet would be in the final but that would never happen anyway, except it did.
Real Madrid B got to the final to play the first team and lost 6-1.
As Madrid had won the league the B team got to play in the cup winners cup only losing to West Ham in extra time.

I take it a player in the B team can't just move into the big team right away or vice versa. What about transfer windows? Can a player be transferred from B to A team.

U23's and U25´s under conditions can switch between A and B teams in Spain. In the French league system, any player with a professional or youth contract can switch between A and B teams, but reserves must have a minimum of youth and amateur players.

It's actually a good opportunity for football fans to have a close up view of some great or future great players. I've watched Jay Jay Okocha, Cristiano Rodriguez and others returning from injury with the reserves, for instance.

Espanyol have a major chip on their shoulder in general when it comes to Barca but they've a real cheek here, I've seen almost their whole stadium chanting things about Pique and his wife in the past.

Barcelona: Espanyol complain about Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets comments

First time I’ve seen extended highlights back of his performance since the day of the game. Absolutely brilliant.

Quite generous to Keane that but still a joy to watch

Don’t think I’ve ever buzzed of a signing so much as I did for Roy Keane

UEFA are considering banning headers from youth football, they are investigating if headers can harm the brain especially in the younger years, Headers are already banned in US U11 soccer for the same reason

When I was wee, there were far too many headers in youth football.

Most of them went on to play amateur and junior.

Some were banned sine die, but came back under an alias every season.

This is good.

Aberdeen City council have approved.

Aberdeenshire council where the are planning the parking as its on the border could still reject which would undo the approval at the moment.

Still a bit to go.

The NIMBYs have already given notice of their plans to seek a Judicial Review. This is heading for AWPR territory, where one goon held the entire thing up for over two years. Then promptly moved to Durham.

Watching the news and see Beckham owning an MLS Franchise in Miami.

I see they are going for the Hispanic constituency, even have their website 'fútbolMiamiMLS.com'.

Hasn't MLS tried this a few times and failed?

Aye, they're all too invested in their own team to bother their arse.
