Pardew is spot on here.

West Brom boss Alan Pardew believes rising transfer fees show that football is "losing the plot".

"We live in a hyper-inflated world because of the TV money received by the football clubs. Therefore, transfers and wages are going way out of kilter with real life," said Pardew.

"If you are a fan of British or European football, you would have a concern about how much money is actually being paid outside of the game."

Remind us what you demanded for your latest contract there, Alan?

He may be a hypocrite but the point he makes is sound.

Can't see the other teams voting in favour of this.
They say that it is not just to benefit Celtic and rangers then have this "Neither team would be allowed to win promotion or be relegated during the pilot. If they finished top or bottom or in any of the play-off places, the senior team in the next place down would automatically take that spot".

Celtic and Rangers colt teams set to play in SPFL as early as next season
Reps from all 10 League Two teams met with Celtic and Rangers’ development chiefs last weekend to discuss the two-year pilot scheme.

Celtic Soul follows Canadian actor and funny man Jay Baruchel on an epic road trip through Canada, Ireland and Scotland with his new friend, well-known Irish soccer journalist Eoin O’Callaghan. It’s a story that spans 200 years of colorful history and that will take the duo eastward from Montreal to Westport, Ireland – where Jay’s ancestors set sail for Canada, like so many others – and finally Glasgow, where Jay will fulfill a lifelong dream: to watch a match at Celtic Park, one of the wildest and most hallowed grounds in world football.

You’d imagine Peru and Mexico, having qualified for the World Cup, will have set up a training camp somewhere in Europe by that point. Can’t see many Celtic players being released for these games either way.

Unfortunately don't think that is true. Clubs are required to release players for international friendlies on designated international friendly dates.

b) Friendly matches on fixed/set dates
These matches take priority over matches in a national championship. In other words, matches in the national championship or cup competition should not be arranged on one of the fixed/set dates.
A club holding the registration of a player called up to play in the national team must release him to the national association on the fixed/set dates for international matches in each calendar year (see enclosure “Coordinated International Match Calendar 2002 – 2004”). The matches may be qualifying matches as defined under Art. 36 Paragraph 2a), or friendly matches.
The player shall also be released for the period of preparation. For a friendly match, this period shall be 48 hours (Paragraph 5a).

Brendan had better get the sick notes prepared now. It's an absolute disgrace that Scotland who didn't qualify for the WC are travelling halfway round the world to give those who have qualified some practice. If our players go they will get no close season to rest. I think it is wrong that we have designated international dates in June outwit World Cup or European Championship Finals. Let those who qualify play amongst themselves as warm up games and leave the rest alone to rest players.
