The average wage of a player in the EPL is £50,817 per week.

The highest paid sports team on the planet are Oklahoma City Thunder (me neither).

Barcelona, Paris St-Germain and Real Madrid are the only soccer teams to make it into the top ten highest paid teams list.

The £2.6m average for a Premier League player is more than double the equivalent figure in the German Bundesliga (£1.26m) and France's Ligue 1 (£944,4075). Players in Spain's La Liga earn an average of £1.68m annually, while the figure for Italy's Serie A is £1.33m.

Much more of this here...

Doesn't shock me an NBA team are the highest paid. They make silly money. More shocked its not Golden State.

Major League Baseball players also make silly amounts of money.

Watford's salary bill is exactly double that of ours. It's a crazy world of football right enough.

I designed my own to commemorate our 4-4 draw at Pittodrie, it's got Josh Thompson, Caddis, Braafheid and O'Dea on it.

That Schalke away strip is excellent.

Surprised it's NBA over MLB actually. Baseball is an absolute money spinner since the teams almost never take a break, or if they do it's a day or two. Sometimes you get 6 home games a week, all with sell-out attendances and 3 hour+ live broadcasts packed with ads every time the batter changes. Football just logistically can't compete with that.

The team size in the NBA is the smallest of all major Sports so each player gets more of the pot. And the exceptional players make a huge difference to the team, so get compensated crazy money.

Just been watching the 2nd part of Simon Ferry's interview with McAvennie - effin hilarious.

You don't really get characters like him in the game anymore.

I've really enjoyed the ferry interviews, but listening to the mcavennie ones, I thought they were the least enjoyable. Bar the macari part... I thought it was filled with the usual mcavennie stuff - lifetime pass for the strippers banter etc.

mcgeady, odea, barry8, mcfadden ones all much better.

Has any football team, from any country ever won a Treble Treble? IE winning 3 domestic trophies 3 years running.

I had a dream that this happened and I won a lot of money with a bet. However, I never bet.
