Niall McGinn could be set for a return to Scotland after terminating his contract with South Korean side Gwanju.

The former Aberdeen winger was allowed to leave the club after they were relegated from the K-League.

And that is sure to spark interest from clubs in the Scottish Premiership after his successful spell with the Dons.

McGinn, a target for Hearts when he decided not to renew his deal at Pittodrie last season, is available for free.

He is keen on a return to Britain after an indifferent spell in the Far East and the disappointment of missing out on a World Cup place with Northern Ireland

Those seedings seem ridiculous. A potential group of Poland, Peru, Iran and Panama?
Even Scotland could qualify from a group containing Peru and Iran!
Yeah, easy peasy....but wait didn't they run rings round us in S America and left us having to beat the Dutch by a cricket score ?
Yes, they did. I feel silly now.

Just for fun, your 24 team Alternative World Cup, loosely based on world rankings, with some tweaks to included teams and seedings based on name recognition.

Pot A: Italy, Netherlands, USA, Wales, Slovakia, Ireland

Pot B: Scotland, Ukraine, Turkey, Northern Ireland, Austria, Czech Republic

Pot C: Cameroon, Greece, Ghana, China, Ecuador, Paraguay

Pot D: Ivory Coast, Algeria, Honduras, UAE, Syria, New Zealand
the Daily Record will probably have worked out who won it by lunchtime.

So see if Hearts can't stage the game I assume they are forfeiting the fixture?

Shouldn't be an option. Absolute nonsense to not be able to stage a game.

Wonder if they'd find anything where the old Celtic Park was across the street or was it all completely demolished and excavated?

For those who haven't been, it's worth paying a visit to Cathkin Park which was the site of Hampden before it moved to its current location.

Still has terraces like the one in the Bradford article.

Archie Macpherson (I think) wrote an interesting article on it a few years back. Can't find that but did find this old KDS thread from 2007: KDS Cathkin Park Thread

Correct, the job was supposed to be complete in September ffs, its not like its a couple of days late.

She'd have something to say if it was her fans who'd bought tickets for an away game under these circumstances.
