An 8 match ban? For verbal abuse? In a country where you can literally punch someone on the pitch and get less than 5 games for a ban?
Pointing and someone and abusing them for only having one eye isn't really on to be fair.
I agree, but punching can put people in hospital, verbal abuse won't. Our football is already stocked with thuggish lowbrows who effectively get the green light to boot the Patrick Roberts of the world off the pitch every game.

I'm not saying that the physical abuse shouldn't get a ban. I'm just not going to complain about somebody getting a severe ban for mocking somebody's disability.

it seems the sfa scales of justice work kind of in reverse

say something horrible - eight game ban

headbutt someone/punch someone in the stomach - yellow card

cheat the entire game for ten years - ach, let's just forget it

It's not quite cricket, but Shiels had just been sent off for a legbreaker and tensions were running 'igh.

Bad craic, but a bit excessive.

8 games seems excessive but we don't know what exactly was said. Must have been pretty bad. Anyway what kind of cretin mocks a person's disability. Ex-hun or not making a half decent career after losing an eye is a great achievement.

Corry Evans’ wife. :ffs:
What a hunney, eh?

:boik:
She's a class act  , it's OK though, what she posted doesn't represent her views :ponder:

A Northern Ireland footballer has been forced into issuing a humbling apology after his wife branded a referee 'a Romanian gipsy c**t' in a rant over a terrible decision in the country's World Cup qualifier with Switzerland.
Lisa Evans, wife of Blackburn Rovers centre-back Corry, tweeted the vile abuse after referee Ovidiu Hategan controversially gave Switzerland a penalty against her husband in Belfast last night. Replays showed the ball hit Corry's back and not his hand.
Switzerland scored from the spot kick, which gave them a crucial 1-0 lead into the second leg of the play-off for Russia 2018.

Corry, who is the brother of West Brom defender and Northern Ireland teammate, Jonny, was given a yellow card which means he will miss the away tie on Sunday.
A tweet from Lisa's account, which she has since deleted, said: 'Romanian gypsy c***!!! And to actually think Northern Ireland has probably homed one of his smelly relatives!! Ungrateful t***!! Anyway onwards and upwards. #GAWA'
Corry, who started his professional career in the Manchester United youth setup, said in a statement: 'On behalf of my wife, I would like to apologise unreservedly for the content and language contained in the Tweet that she issued last night.
'The comments were published in the heat of the moment and are not representative of her views.'

It's more than verbal abuse, it's discrimination and will fall under the Equalities Act as his impairment should be a protected characteristic under the Act.
