Embarassing from CQN. Ronny has a better manager than Keane, who won the championship and kept Sunderland up for a season? Give me peace. I don't disagree with a word that Roy said about our performance.
Keane slaughtered the Parkhead outfit in August last year after they had overcome Hapoel Be’er Sheva 5-4 on aggregate to reach the group stages for the first time in three years after two consecutive failures under Ronny Deila.

He said: “The celebrations were way over the top. They scraped through and I thought they’d actually won the competition.”

Dearie me, what an absolute effin' roaster.

And FWIW, Ronny left us in far better shape than Keane (who was the only other candidate) would have done.

I still like Roy Keane, even if he is a snarky bastard at the best of times. Don’t think he would have been a good choice to manage Celtic at that point in time. If he had failed to get CL football, which is more than possible, he would need to have something pretty exciting to show domestically.

I think a lot of pundits - and fans - like to affect an air of haughty superiority and a sort of aloofness which can quickly descend into parody, and sees them criticising everything and anything which doesn't fit into their desperate wish to be perceived as having a win-at-all-costs mentality. I think Roy Keane actually has that almost psychopathic mentality, and he means every word of his criticisms about, eg, the celebrations mentioned above. I'd rather watch or listen to him than any of the multitude of bland pundits out there, even if, or maybe especially because I disagree with him half the time.

BT sports has a report on the use of Video Assistants in the Bundesliga, whole team of guys looking at decisions!
Hope this never comes to Scotland, can you image the number of MIB crowding in to give decisions against us?

Near Lyon a 15 year old player who punched a referee in the face got a thirty-year suspension. :ô

Last season, there were 5000 attacks on referees in France amateur football. :nono:

After more bawbaggery by Lazio "ultras", in which they plastered the traditional Roma end of the Stadio Olimpico with stickers of Anne Frank in a Roma jersey, all Serie A games will feature a reading of a passage from her diary. Good on the Serie A for doing this, but I also feel that Lazio should be docked points as well. Let's the "good" Lazio supporters know that when they see such crap actually hurting their team they all suffer.

A schoolboy footballer is making regular 320-mile round trips from his home in the Western Isles to play for Greenock Morton FC's under-11s.
Matthew Davidson, 10, travels from the Isle of Barra for training sessions and matches with the Scottish Championship club as often as twice a week.
The midfielder played for Barra's Castlebay Community School before being spotted at a trials session.
Airline Loganair is helping Matthew with his travel arrangements.
Loganair operates flights from Barra's beach runway to Glasgow, from where Matthew can travel to Greenock.
Greenock Morton chief executive Warren Hawke said: "In recent years we have seen a number of players, such as Rothesay's Jim McAlister and Dunoon's Lewis Strapp, overcome geographic challenges to become professional footballers at Greenock Morton.
"None of those were quite on the same scale as young Matthew Davidson though, who travels all the way from his home on the Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides to train and turn out for our academy's under-11s side."

Leicester pocket £73 million from UEFA for their CL participation last season. :o
They topped their group and English clubs make more from the market pool than some other countries do. Plus they were the only English team to reach the QF so had that market pool cash to themselves. Some amount of money all the same

With respect to the above post, more money news. The six richest (no need to list them) EPL clubs have failed in an attempt to redistribute the international TV income in their favor:

We’re now around £60m over the last two years, with hopefully more to come, and the potential for another £30m next season. And the season after that. And the season after that. Leicester won’t be seeing CL money again in my lifetime.
