Didn't know where else to put it but Live Star Sixes Football has not long started on SS1. Legends of the game from Spain and England on just now.
I'm off to the early afternoon session on Saturday. Some good names playing in the tournament.

Bayern only paid 1860 €11m for their share? :o

How much did they contribute each to the building?
€11m on its own is a bit misleading. Bayern paid €11m but also took on 1860's €140 million stadium debt & interest due. Then, as it happened, they paid off the entire debt 16 years early :o
They also gave 1860 the opportunity to buy it back at any point in the next 10 years or something I think for the same price.

But when 1860 really struggled, they cancelled that clause in return for a friendly where 1860 got to keep all the gate receipts. (Shows how skint they were)

I know Bayern didn't need to do any of it, but it still feels that they utilised 1860's situation to their advantage.

After being demoted to the 4th tier, 1860 Munich have moved out of the Allianz Arena, back to their old Grunwalder Stadium. They are going to struggle to meet stadium requirements if they ever get promoted to the top two tiers.
Always had a wee soft spot for 1860. Hope they manage to get it together.

Went to an 1860 game in the Allianz a few years ago. It was cracking even though there were only about 9k folk there. Beer and bratwurst helped right enough.

Even swapped my Celtic scarf with some German bloke so I've an 1860 one in the house somewhere.

I read that Rummenigge has been quite open about wanting 1860 out of the stadium for a while. That said, at the point 1860 have reached it's like being a landlord with a chaotic tenant

It suits both parties at this point, but it is a bit of shame what has happened to that club.

My best ever football manager game was managing Die Lowen. FM2007 or something I think ?

Won the league with Wolfsburg before moving, which they managed to do in real life not long after. Pity the same can't be said for 1860.

Also, what is the Olympiastadion used for nowadays, does it just lay empty most of the time ?

Just about to post that link...

Imagine him pouring you(never mind making the bloody stuff) a glass of cognac..he would miss the glass and pour it over your new Boss suit you bought for your sister's wedding (once in a lifetime purchase!)

Car crash extraordinaire that guy.

may be, but was he not always the longest in the shower? :o

Wondering if anybody on here is able to help provide me with an explanation for something.

I've just bought a t-shirt in a charity shop with a picture of Danny McGrain and a picture of Fidel Castro with the writing:

"FIDEL McGRAIN"
"Viva la revolucion, Viva el futbol"
"Hasta la victoria siempre"

(Obv i know what the words say)

I bought the t-shirt just because it had Danny McGrain on it but I'm wondering if anybody on here is able to give any link between the 2. I typed Fidel McGrain into google and a thread on here from 2011 came up. It was the "Socrates" thread and a poster apparently had the same t-shirt but no real explanation was provided. Perhaps it's something as simple as the beards, as mentioned in the Socrates thread, but if there's something more to it and anyone on here is able to shed some light on it I would really appreciate it.

Cheers in advance

I've got the same t-shirt which I bought in St Enochs from one of those stalls that sell Celtic and Rangers t-shirts.

There's no story behind it as far as I'm aware other than them being able to use a picture of Danny that looks a wee bit like Castro.

The Egyptian Cup Final for years had a ref from France or England as no local ref would touch it because of threats of retribution from the losing team.

I'm trying to remember the name of the English ref who made headlines for being the firdt ref in decades not to send anyone off in it.
