Oh someone had a bowl of sarcasm for breakfast

Bored with lack of signings.

Given the complete change in direction this season I am a little more relaxed than I would have been in other seasons.

However, if there’s no major signings before the final qualifier I reserve the right to panic like previous seasons.

FORMER Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster has advised Moussa Dembele not to leave Parkhead in a hurry. The striker has been linked with a number of clubs – including AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea – following a stellar maiden season in Scottish football in which he scored 32 times for Brendan Rodgers’ treble winners.

Forster, though, believes Dembele - and any other Celtic players who might be considering moving on this summer - should take their time before reaching a decision, believing the draw of Champions League football is something no player should ever take for granted.

The goalkeeper spent four seasons at Celtic before signing for Southampton where he is first choice and now a regular in the England squad. He still looks back fondly on his time at Parkhead as “something very special” and hopes the current side are just as appreciative of what they have.

He said: “It all depends on your situation but you can’t ever be in a hurry to leave a club like Celtic.

“When you are there, you need to love every minute of it. It’s such a unique club that it would have to been something really special to find something like what Celtic can give you.

“That is especially the case at the moment. Look at what Brendan is doing and how the club is moving forward. When you are at Celtic, you get an opportunity to play Champions League and very few players get to do that.

“Very few players in England get to do it and those are fantastic night at Celtic Park, playing in front of those fans. It’s something very special and you can never take that for granted. I would never be encouraging people to leave in a hurry.

“When that opportunity does come, it needs to be the right move for you. But ultimately the club will decide when that happens.”

Forster credits his time as Celtic as key in kick-starting his career, a theme Scott Sinclair has repeated this season. The forward came north last summer after a difficult few years in English football and ended the campaign with three trophies and a glut of player of the year awards. Forster thinks others should look at Sinclair’s success and make a similar move, believing they would “fall in love with the club”.

He added: “I would definitely recommend Celtic to any player. There is a massive appeal to go there.

“You are constantly competing for trophies, you have the Champions League and you have the support and fanbase. It’s a unique club and a lot of people don’t realise how big it is until they see it for themselves.

“It’s a fantastic club and I would always recommend people to go. When they get there, they would just fall in love with the club.”

Many of Forster’s former Celtic team-mates have gone on to have hugely successful careers, with Victor Wanyama earning a £12m move to Tottenham Hotspur. Now it looks as if Virgil van Dijk will be the next to advance his career, with Liverpool having been linked previously with a big-money bid for the defender.

Forster added: “Am I surprised Virgil’s been spoken about as a £60m player? No. Not when you have played with him. I saw him early at Celtic and he just cruised through games.

“Everything was effortless and then he came down to England, and he’s been fantastic. It’s a real credit to him. He’s shown everyone that he’s one of – if not the – best defender in the Premier League. He’s great on the ball and it’s hard to find players like him at centre half.”

His introduction to the site is quite spectacularly awful.

The site itself does look quite professional though leading me to wonder if he is solely the man behind it. Fair play to him if he is.

If it's the brainchild of someone else though it leads to the further question of why on earth you'd get Tony Watt to front it?

I don't think I'll be cancelling my Empire subscription just yet.

Tony's Review (of Shooter)

I'm not sure if I've ever watched something with Mark Wahlberg and its not been very good. High quality action movie that will keep you switched on. Loved that it kept you guessing how it ends. Proper action thriller movie. Wahlberg is amazing as normal.

He's succinct - I'll give him that!

A Spanish youth coach is sacked after his team wins 25-0

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40289256
The coach of a Spanish youth team has been sacked after a 25-0 win - because the club's management decided the margin of victory went against the spirit of the game.

After defeating fellow Valencia side Benicalap C on 3 June, Serranos B's under-11 manager was removed from his position.

"We believe in encouraging respect for your opponents. After the result, we decided that the manager should leave," Pablo Alcaide, who helps run the side, told El Pais.

However, the Spanish newspaper also published comments from the manager's lawyer, who insisted his client had not pushed players to score as many as they could.

The manager instead instructed his side "to pressure only in their own half" in the eight-a-side game, but Benicalap C "continued to attack and left spaces in behind", the lawyer said.

The game was Benicalap C's final match of the season. They finished bottom of the league with zero points and 247 goals conceded from their 30 matches.

El Pais reports that such one-sided scores are not infrequent in Spanish youth football, but many clubs stop counting once they have scored more than 10 goals.

The English FA's latest guidance to youth coaches, published in 2012, is designed to "challenge the win-at-all-costs mentality that is stifling development and enjoyment for young people".

Footballers train for 2 hours a day and need to find something to fill their time. Some would turn to gambling, playing computer games, others do a lot of charity work etc. Don't really see the problem, if he is a fan of films and the film industry, to decide to put his spare time to some sort of productive use.

Granted, it isn't great but better than what 90% of other footballers would do with their time!

Wait is he guilty already?

Fair amount of Spanish judges on here.

It went on here before Messi and CO got found guilty as well.

He is as good as. The Spanish courts aren't gonna raise an action like this unless they are sure they will win.
:nono: No one expects the Spanish inquisition.

Some changes to the way football is currently played being considered apparently......some seem based on common sens (ie only the captain of teams being allowed to question a refs decision ala rugby), others seem a bit mental such as being able to take a free-kick and pass to yourself!
