Adam Johnson been caught on video in jail talking about his case. Doesn't appear to show a lot of remorse.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11678/10851357/newcastle-united-and-west-ham-raided-by-police-on-wednesday-morning

Offices at Newcastle and West Ham have been raided as part of an investigation into suspected tax and National Insurance fraud, Sky sources understand.

Nearly 200 officers of HM Revenue and Customs were also deployed in the raids, which included the training ground and main offices of Newcastle United at St James' Park and the London Stadium, home of West Ham.

A number of arrests were made, and Sky Sports News HQ understands that one of those was Newcastle's managing director Lee Charnley.

A statement from HMRC read: "HMRC has arrested several men working within the professional football industry for a suspected Income Tax and National Insurance fraud.

"180 HMRC officers have been deployed across the UK and France today. Investigators have searched a number of premises in the north east and south east of England and arrested the men and also seized business records, financial records, computers and mobile phones.

"The French authorities are assisting the UK investigation, have made arrests and several locations have been searched in France.

"This criminal investigation sends a clear message that, whoever you are, if you commit tax fraud you can expect to face the consequences. As this is an ongoing investigation HMRC is unable to provide any further detail at this time."

David Moyes to face FA charge for being a dickhead...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39709322

Sunderland manager David Moyes has been charged by the Football Association after telling BBC reporter Vicki Sparks she might "get a slap".

He was caught on camera making the remarks following his team's draw against Burnley in the Premier League.

Moyes has expressed his "deep regret" for his response.

It came after an interview in which he was asked by Sparks if the presence of Sunderland's owner Ellis Short put extra pressure on him.

He said "no" but, after the interview, added that Sparks "might get a slap even though you're a woman" and that she should be "careful" next time she visited.

Does anyone think the EPL will be as impotent as the SPL when it comes to punishing tax cheats?

I copied it off Twitter, so don't ask me what the context of it is. I'd guess that it's only looking at his last 127 games rather than his entire career?

Edit - should add that it came from Coral's twitter, so hopefully a bit more reputable a source than some random internetter.

he got 6 in 36 games two season ago, so most likely not true- none of them against Birmingham

Fair enough

Shame really, would have been a great stat otherwise.

I took it to mean his league record only against all other Championship clubs. Given that he has only ever played in the Premier League before this season there will be a fair number of clubs in the Championship he will never have played against, or came up against only infrequently.

The goal against Birmingham was his first league goal this season. Given he has scored a few goals against them in his career, that part of it looks solid enough.

I guess you'd need to look at his individual league record against the other 20 Championship clubs. Or more accurately, against clubs that have been in the Premier League over his time at Villa: Newcastle, Fulham, Norwich, Cardiff, Wolves, QPR, Blackburn, Wigan, Derby and Reading.
