Ayr United has fallen foul of Scotland's tough heraldic laws, as outlined by the Court of the Lord Lyon (established 1532) and has selected a replacement design by a member of their huge Peru fan base.

http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/39639912?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_match_of_the_day&ns_source=facebook&ns_linkname=sport

It's good that the Scottish game is paying attention to these existential issues.
Just read the original report about their club badge falling foul of the heraldic laws because it had a Saltire on it.

Since their new badge also has a Saltire on it, how does it not have the same problem??? :ponder:

I think Dave Bowman's quote wins the day.

don't think that it has been on here, but a Brøndby fan threw dead rats after one of FC Copenhagens players at the weekend, when the two arch rivals played each other

http://www.espnfc.com/danish-sas-ligaen/story/3106506/dead-rats-hurled-at-fc-copenhagen-players-by-brondby-fan-in-derby

Quote:

The four dead rodents were hurled at goal-scorer Benjamin Verbic and Ludwig Augustinsson as they prepared to take a corner in the closing moments of the Superliga clash.

Yeah, fabulous article Remy, thanks for the heads up. They were a smashing team, and games against them were generally great games. McLean though had the personality to be a Jesuit.

Great read. Great team. That goal by Milne would grace any game, even now. :worthy:

:lmao:
Dave Bowman got on the same bus as me a few weeks ago.

Not so remarkable.

Then Davie Dodds got on a few stops later.

They blanked each other.

To be honest, if I knew Davie Dodds I wouldn't publicly acknowledge it either.

'The 1982-83 season was the last in which United would sport their epochally beautiful kit of tangerine shirt with black floppy collar, black Adidas stripes and black, diagonal DUFC on the heart.'

I had that strip, loved it. Great article too.

He suffered from depression and committed suicide 10 years to the day of them losing the European Cup final to Liverpool.
