This doesn't really fit in with the GB thread, but the Hannover boss has offered their Ultras €100k if they stop using flares during matches:

I dont know any German :(

Hanover boss offers his own fans 100.000 €

Carrot and stick
Recently surprised Martin Kind, president of Hannover 96, with an offer of their own Ultras: He offers 100,000 euros if the fans would refrain from playing with fire in the stadium.

HANNOVER 96 BOSS MARTIN KIND INTERVIEW

When I was a child I asked my mother for what she really wished for her birthday. Because my mother is very tolerant of home, she said: "A bread basket" Because I was again as a toddler still penniless, I borrowed spontaneously five marks from her and walked to the hardware store around the corner.. The range was manageable, strictly speaking, there were two bread baskets to choose from. There was a beautiful work of art with raffia. With sewn cotton cloth. The dream of every breakfast-making mother. It cost 4.99 marks. Next to it was a turquoise plastic basket. Manufactured in China. Softener included. Cost: 79 cents. Since I did not understand a lot of charity, small gestures and the pleasure of giving, I invested 79 penny in turquoise plastic and the rest in ice and cola. Simply put:. I am an expert on shampoo gifts how I now come to Hannover 96 president Martin Kind, remains my secret.

At least between my mother and him there is nothing in common. But child said recently over the "Hannover Allgemeine Zeitung": "I would rather give these people 100,000 euros for creative choreography or assist them in traveling to 96 games. This offer is "lush background of this donation to" these people "-. Meant, incidentally, were the ultras of his clubs - were the huge penalties that had to pay 96 for the past two years to the DFB and UEFA Hanover. For the misconduct of their own annex, the club had been probably shell out much more than 100,000 euros in fines. Recently, the club were about aufgebrummt fines of 30,000 euros for offenses in the second half of last Bundesliga season. This of course was mainly about setting off pyrotechnics. money against self the chance of free travel to away games, generous financial support of choreography and other amenities to child idea, the fans could possibly make you think. But his offer is playing with fire, because nothing active fans hate more than the tutelage authorities. Nothing they lean off more than shoulder to shoulder with club bosses.

This can be seen every weekend. You must approve it because of course not. But Ultras operate largely autonomously. This understanding has been administered them seemingly with breast milk. Of course, the 96-trailer ignored Kinds idea of big money. In Hanover, so there will be in the future is not funded by the club Ultra block.

Yet child pushed his offer and immediately afterwards a warning. "If anyone expects us to voluntarily pay high fines for setting off pyrotechnics, then he is wrong," he said, adding: "That is why we have installed a lot of money in video technology in the stadium, I think the principle of a bad investment - yet we need to do it to make offenders identified. "It's the old game of carrot and stick. Instead of using paper money, so probably will be soon spiraled heaped with stadium bans on the leash. But my child really believed that the 96-Ultras would actually respond to his indecent proposal? If so, show that the mutual Vertständnis between club bosses and fans appeared more organized in Hannover, as one might assume now. This is not a good sign. It is a step backwards. Oh yes, my mother has never forgiven me for the bread basket Gift disaster really. Rather, they doubted for years in their education. That's what she told me just the other day, when I remembered smirking at this great moment of family history. Then I excused myself later for my lack of empathy and the matter was out of the world. Talking is always better than just pass each other. Maybe that penetrates indeed someday to Hanover through.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere already. Thought it would be best in here, seeing as Belgrade are now out of the CL! (Can't seem to get the vid to embed, so just follow the link).

Imagine if the GB tried this on Broony! (Do the GB have a leader? Would it be ok, so long as he/she didn't approach the pitch laterally?)

Partizan Belgrade Ultras Leader strips captain of armband:

http://www.insideworldsoccer.com/2013/08/partizan-captain-armband-removed-ultras.html

After seeing their side knocked out of the Champions League, Partizan Belgrade Ultras took it into their own hands to express their dismay at the team's dismal performance.

Partizan suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat to Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad in their Champions League third qualifying tie on Tuesday night, thus sending the Serbian champions out of the competition after a 3-1 aggregate loss.

The defeat did not sit well with the infamous Partizan Ultras, who chanted insults directly aimed at the club's board.

When the Partizan players moved closer to the fans in an attempt to quell their anger, things went to a whole new level.

A well-known Partizan Ultras leader named Miloš Radisavljević Kimi jumped down onto the pitch and proceeded to approach club captain Marko Šćepović and remove his armband.

Kimi then walked back to the stands with the armband, completely unobstructed by officals, security guards, or the player himself.

I watched the Partizan game. Some of the stuff going on was even more shameful. There was some lateral movement :nono:

Hull City to now be known as Hull City Tigers...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2387625/Hull-City-renamed-Hull-Tigers-owners-Ehab-Assem-Allam.html

Can't wait til the day Celtic sell up to some Arab or Yank who decides it's be better for us to wear red shirts and be known as the Glasgow Shark-Wizards...

EDIT: Just seen this quote elsewhere from the Chairman...

"In the commercial world, the shorter the name, the better. The more it can spread quickly."

HULL CITY - 8 letters
HULL CITY TIGERS - 14 letters
HULL TIGERS - 10 letters

Effing pumpkin...!

Don't know / can't upload the phots so you may have to click on the link to see it,unless someone uploads it.
Check it out.

Er, is that a five-year-old playing in the France v Belgium match?

France's 0-0 draw with Belgium yielded little in the way of action highlights, but a tremendous photograph from the fixture has gone viral online.
At first glance it looks as though Les Bleus used the international friendly as chance for one lucky child, or perhaps an athletically-talented dwarf, to don the national kit and take to the pitch alongside his heroes.
Closer inspection reveals that the vertically-challenged individual in question is not a schoolboy but actually Mathieu Valbuena, aged 28 and three quarters.
Valbuena is an attacking midfielder at Marseille who has been linked with a move to Premier League side Newcastle this summer.
There are no sneaky edits or Photoshop tricks at play here - simply Valbuena's already-diminutive stature at 5'6" tall whilst stood next to 6'3" Vincent Kompany and 6'5" Marouane Fellaini, combined with a fortuitous camera angle as the playmaker leans back during a pass.
Still, it makes for a tremendous visual. And if he were to switch to a Premier League side, he and Manchester City skipper Kompany or imminent Manchester United signing Fellaini may get a chance to improve upon it, with the help of another top photographer and a generous dollop of luck.

Might help if I put the link up, http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/early-doors/france-v-belgium-produces-incredibly-deceptive-picture-101805091.html
