Just saw that orlando cities new stadium has a stand thats all standing with a designated smoke bomb area
MLS is not my cup of tea but the atmosphere in that stadium before their first game was absolutely outstanding

americans certainly seem a lot more emotionally invested in their football than they were back in 94
Feel like they are getting better at vetting new teams coming in to the league. The teams that have been coming in have been well supported, with decent stadiums and usually did well at lower division level.

I'd say the exception being NYCFC and a future second LA team. I think the league were so desperate for a presence in NYC that they overlooked the fact the team has to play in a baseball stadium with no real plan for its own stadium. If that was any market outwith NY/LA they would have stopped the expansion team.

I wish the league could fix the Texan teams. Hate seeing them play in almost empty stadiums for cities their size. Apparently Dallas stadium is far from the city on a toll road with no real other links. For a team that has been good, it's annoying to see low crowds. Glad DC United are also moving from the relic that is RFK stadium to a smaller, more appropriate stadium.

Atlanta Uniteds new stadium which is set to open in a few months. Probably one of the last remaining tax payer funded stadiums given recent trends.

Are Atlanta United a new franchise? Cant remember seeing them previously.

Spent a lot of time in Atlanta, loved the city. The new stadium looks amazing, i seen it on the run up to the Super Bowl cant believe that its been state funded though. :suspect:

It's Atlanta's first year in MLS. I would say most stadiums in the US receive some sort of government funding from city, county, or state. Its not usually 100%, but there is starting to be major pushback as people just don't buy a billionaire pleading poverty to get a shiny new plaything that they wil use to milk the paying public without giving any tangible benefit back to the community.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepRussian politician Igor Lebedev proposes legalising football hooliganism

A Russian politician has proposed legalising football hooliganism and turning it into a sport.

Igor Lebedev has drawn up rules for "draka" - the Russian word for fight - which he said would involve 20 unarmed competitors on each side in an organised brawl. :boxer:

aye its very popular in eastern Europe . they go to a secluded forrest usually and just batter each other. Everyone involved wants to be taking part.
 Thats effin mental! Our eastern European cousins eh? All the best dashcam footage is from Russia too, theyre a crazy bunch.
On YouTube there's a 'Hooligan Champion's League' televised tournament. Six-a-side, knocking eff out of each other.

I seen a glimpse of Lech Poznan leathering Gothenburg. It's surreal. Dancing cheerleaders and a baying crowd, like something from The Running Man.

Maracana reopened last night for Flamengo in the Libertadores. Beat Sao Lorenzo 4-0 as well. Great stuff after seeing the place fall into "ruin" due to corrupt bastards.
