"Robin van Persie sends Piers Morgan a signed picture of him kissing the PL trophy. #tears4piers

"So I just received a package from Manchester United press office," Morgan tweeted.

"'Robin wanted you to have this'
"The package contained a double-sided framed photograph. Of Van Pursestrings kissing the Premier League trophy.

"'Piersy my man, thanks for all the support! You made this day even more special! All the best, Van Pursestrings.'

"Side 2: 'Great to be a champ... so many #Tears4Piersy'"

For once, though, Morgan had to accept that someone had got the better of him.

"After all the grief I've given Van Pursestrings, he's allowed a whack back. I'll just have to take it on the chins.

"I will of course afford RVP gift the respect it deserves. And use it as my loo doorstop in Beverley Hills."

Picture and article

Brazil will have a third strip launch tomorrow. Its black and has the CBF badge on the sleeve. And the team can't wear it because the CBF rules state that only colours on the flag can be used by Brasil - green, gold, blue and white. I like the top but surely marketing gone mad if you have a third strip you can't use. :cuckoo:
Did they not have one similar a few years back? Surprised they don't take a leaf out of the SFA bendy autonomous rule book.

Werder Bremen beat an amateur team 20-0 in a "challenge" game after the Bundesliga concluded.

Not much of a challenge. The amateur team got 4,000 to pay to watch, but I can't imagine being happy after playing in a game like that, no matter how modest their expectations were.

There was a guy parked his pick up outside the ground with a billboard reading:
HUGHES OUT.

So yeah, good start

He played for Barcelona and Spain as well. We caught a break him being out as he was a great player and Inter's best.

Found this out in a 'British Encyclopedia of Football' from 1982 co-edited by Martin Tyler who had the gall to say our win was a smash and grab due in no small part to Suarez absence and that Inter scored too early for their own good. Did say however Inter had trouble containing Jinky. Never ceases to amaze me how dominant and how many chances the Lions had in this match.

Did he mention Suarez's absense without considering McBride's for Celtic? 36 goals already by December before he got injuried IIRC?

The book is quite patronising although there is a section on the demise of the Scottish game (this was '82) with a great map of where all the clubs were located showing why we still have a problem in '13! Basically too many clubs in small areas of Scotland, Fife being a prime example. Funnily enough Journos are still talking our game down today. Small coincidence but weren't a certain Oldco a bit shampoo then too!

What a strange list. Our brand is worth less than Stoke's? I find that hard to believe. And Porto does not appear in the top fifty. Odd.
