Last Sunday, Marseille fans had a lot of protest banners. Including a couple of huge ones attacking the owner, Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, urging her to "GTF, go home and take care of her children" :ffs:

Today, Marseille is on sale. I wouldn't be surprised if she sold them to crooks. I wonder it could tempt a Motherwell-born billionaire. :hmmm:

not defending the Marseille fans, but the transfer dealing ahead of this season has been very very poor, I know that a few left on free transfers, but still

Away; Payet, Imbula, Thauvin, Gignac, Ayew, Fanni, Morel, Lemina etc etc

+ they haven't had a manager with a chance of winning the title since Deschamps, Bielsa is awesome but not likely to win in Europe

Feel that it would be the best if she sold, been in "the air" that she wasn't so involved/passioned about in the club as her dad

She took over from her his and, although he could have been her dad. ;)

You're right about the signing policy, but it's nothing new. It happens all the time. They usually tolerate this when the manager or president is an OM man. And defend them when they're brought to justice for dodgy dealings. The Louis-Dreyfus's have spent hundreds of millions euros, not their wisest investment.

The club still has the biggest support nationwide, but I think something is rotten, and a new owner won't change this. The last time RLD put them on sale, the supporters were raving at an offre from a European consortium that appeared to be crooks. Could happen this time again.

With the support they've got and the potential for a Barca-Real type rivalry with QSG they'd surely be a fairly attractive proposition for a billionaire investor.

Well, a billionaire has already failed.
The support is a huge part of the problem. Especially the "professional" supporters. President Labrune managed to regain full control of the season tickets sales from supporters clubs but no-one knows what they got in exchange in the deal. The supporters clubs still own merchandising rights too.
The OM men within the club will make fail any alien approaching the club, to maintain their own business (dodgy transfer deals for instance, players racket...)
Supporters and historical staff want Tapie back, but even him isn't crazy enough to take the chance.

Qatar took over the late PSG that had been cleaned by a financial investor from supporters violence and dodgy advisors and crooks. A new billionaire interested in the OM brand will need find very brave people to clean the mess.

You could argue that Margarita could get the job done by hiring some tough financial guns and clean up the club before selling it and getting out of football with a nice profit from it, as it is it doesn't make her any money, the sale value of a "clean" OM would vastly oversee the value of a "dirty" one - unless you need the dirt to do your buiness in other matters

anyway well done to Margarita to giving birth to twins last month at the age of 53

Well, the current President, Labrune, was hired to do the dirty job and... failed. He's not the first. A conservative businessman, now a columnist in right-wing minded medias tried to clean the club up in 2019-11... He was meant to sell the club. He finally gave up and the sale to dodgy investors never happened. The righteous President finally got charged for corruption and fraud last year.

Doing the pre-course work for the FA Referees course and it asks you to list 6 items of equipment the ref needs to take onto the field of play. So far I've got;

1) Notebook
2)Pen
3) Watch
4) Whistle
5) Cards

Racking my brain to think of the sixth one. Any ideas?

winkers Bingo: full marks for goat, sash, book [insert Celtic players name]
A spare watch? I'm sure I read somewhere that refs have to carry two watches in case the first one stops working, although I might have imagined it.
A coin?
Is the correct answer.

And it's Watches and Whistles, two of each.

WTF?

Watch the most bizarre Rangers and Celtic video EVER ... someone’s been taking some serious drugs

BY DARREN COONEY

THERE’s wacky and then there’s THIS! Check out a mental cartoon by Taiwanese animators.

SUNDAY’S Scottish Cup epic was pretty mental, right?

We had goals galore, astonishing misses and the nerve-shredding penalty shootout. To say nothing of smoke bombs, illegal songs and dodgy banners.

OK, so we’re all agreed it was utterly bonkers? Brilliant but utterly bonkers, yeah?

But there’s crazy and then there’s THIS crazy.

You can picture the scene right enough. A group of excitable Taiwanese animators all giggling at their latest wacky idea.

image: http://i4.dailyrecord.co.uk/incoming/article7782758.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/Screen-Shot-2016-04-18-at-175415.png

‘Why don’t we’, one of them said, ‘do up an Old Firm spoof where we tell the story of Rangers ’ demise and rise up through the leagues in a weird but hilarious cartoon?’

'Yeah, great idea', said another, 'and we’ll finish it with the derby game at Hampden. We’ll give all the players weird monikers – nicknames they don’t actually use?'

Ach, what’s the point of describing it? Just click on the player above.

Marseille have suspended their manager due to 'recent behaviour'. Day before their Cup semi final :D

http://www.itv.com/news/2016-04-19/marseille-suspend-head-coach-michel-on-eve-of-coupe-de-france-semi-final/

What a mess they are in this season. As a casual fan of Bordeaux, it amuses me (even though Bordeaux are rubbish too).

PSG apparently wants Mourinho despite Blanc signing a new deal i Februar. Blanc to return to OM and get the squad sorted
