a decent window. We have a good squad, and if we can get everyone fit and firing on all cylinders, we'll be looking at back-to-back Trebles in May.
Unlike Flawless, I think we might just get past Zenit too. And then who knows.
I'll not say there's no chance. But really, with that defence, our home form, our injuries there's no much of a sniff.

sorry big man, but I missed the bit where Zenit became world beaters. If we play well at home and get a decent lead, then we should be confident of progressing. I appreciate that's a sizeable "if", but we are more than capable of it.

Happy with the business done. Got an experienced centre back and a decent prospect centre back. Got a wunderkid in on loan and an emergency keeper. Shipped out one of our underperformers.

Even managed to get a made up talking points controversy about Commper being cup tied to keep the phone ins and Kris Commons happy.

We've had a lot worse windows than that.

Now who needs to manage their expectations.

;)

They skooshed their section and score lots of goals. We've a better chance away from home.

Decent acquisitions, kept Dembele, I'd say that was a decent bit of business.

Some people really want to have a look at themselves. Gave themselves an ulcer with a full month of whinging, moaning and generally being spoilt effing weans. Hope they're embarrassed with themselves today.

The squad is more than strong enough to win the treble I have no doubt of that. However defensively we are nowhere near good enough in Europe so I presume we will be found out again when we play Zenit.

We now face going into the summer window (which will no doubt be described as difficult due to the world cup) needing to sign half a team & negotiate the Champions League qualifiers also.

Roberts - Will return to City
Edouard - Will return to PSG
Dembele - Will almost certainly be sold this summer
Gordon - In my opinion need a replaced
Lustig - Needs replaced
We still need cover at LB

Brown, Lustig, Forrest, Boyata, Gamboa, Armstrong & De Vries will also enter the final year of their current deals so will need extended or sold.

I just feel we could have done more in this window to prepare us for what is looking like a hectic summer.

People like that are rarely embarrassed and even less likely to admit it.

The January window is rarely one for drastic changes. The wildest Jan window we had was in a terrible season where we finished behind Oldco.

We got Compper in as an experienced CB who has time to settle in before next season's qualifiers.

Musonda came in as an attacking player we needed due to long term injuries to Rogic, Armstrong, Paddy.

They were the two areas BR wanted to strengthen plus Bain for the Gordon injury at the last minute.

Morgan and Hendry were bonus, signed as potential first team players.

Overall a decent window. BR and his team will have a list of replacements lined up for those likely to leave in summer. Just hope we get business done earlier next window compared to past summers.

They haven't played a competitive game since November.

Our best chance will be in the 1st leg.

I'm quite positive about the window, but don't think it extends far enough to be expecting anything out of the Zenit tie.

If we turn up in a tie like this for a change then it may very well be competitive, but there is no real doubt about the ability they've got.

There's also the small matter of 10 goals scored against the champions of Denmark and Czech Republic in their winter break friendlies too.

They were beaten by Utrecht away in qualifying, and drew 1 all with Rosenborg away in the group. They've not played a competitive match for about 2 and a half months.

Reasonable enough window. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Compper - Would have to think he has been bought to be a regular starter. Not much known about him but hopefully a good signing.

Musonda - The one shining light of the window. Great piece of business and should become one of our top players.

Bain - Cover

Hendry - A project and goes against the managers wanting quality in claim. When all defender are fit he is likely to be last choice. Seen a bit of him and he hasn't stood out. If/when he gets his chance he needs to step up and take it.

Keeping Moussa, if he regains his form, is a big boost as well so all in all a passable window

With the options we have going forward I think we could score against any team. Haven't seen Zenit so don't know how they're going to play against us, but if we can continue to play the way we did in the first half especially against Hearts, while still having Sinclair back, Musonda starting and Roberts fit (hopefully) to choose from then we've got a chance against anyone.

Hit them for a couple in the first 20 minutes and knock their confidence.

Agree with all of the above. January's never a great time to make massive changes but I think we've set ourselves up well enough for what will be a very busy summer.

Right back is perhaps the one position we're a bit short in, but I can see the formation from Tuesday being used a lot more often going forward anyway

I don't believe for a minute we'll get through the tie.

Can't say there's no chance, they might field an ineligible player or something.

How many games do we actually have left? Given going for the treble and being soundly eliminated by Zenit.

We need to win an absolute maximum of 14 games to win the treble, which would be a thing of beauty.

It's a shame so many people think we have no chance at this stage in the Europa league. I hope, going forward, we'll be looking to re-establish ourselves as a respectable force in Europe. If Basel can do it I don't see why we can't. We've got the right leadership on the park, we just need the right leadership upstairs.

The manager will be fuming. He wanted lots of quality additions and no other type of player. "Just two more £5m signings, I'm not counting Compper" I believe was what he said, or at least meant. Yet the clappy happers will be delighted.
