Hoped for a new goalie, but that looks unlikely now.

100% need a new RB, CB (at least 1), LW and striker (depending on who leaves). If Rogic leaves then we're going to need to spend a lot of money to replace him with a similar standard.

Need backup for KT, Forrest and probably another CM is Armstrong leaves.

remarkably in recent days we have had Dembele, Eduardo and Griffiths all fit, yet unable to score.
we even had Roberts and Armstrong back (but probably not match fit)

I think we struggled with injuries through the season that led to barren spells and slow football, and it should be a warning that we need quality, an upgrade.
goodness knows what would have happened had Brown got injured.

Unfortunately i think the mentality is that if we can win ( qualify for CL and maybe the treble) with injuries and without some big players , then we can do it next year as well.

worrying!

#biscuittinmentality
This was a strange year. A lot of injuries and BR probably thought he had to play in a way that conserved energy for the crucial games - hence the slower pace of our play.

I also think there would have been a real focus on a double treble, which is less likely to be a priority next season. I'd even consider playing a younger team in the league cup so that our key players can concentrate only on Europe and league results for the first half of the season.

Although...a treble treble would be some laugh
Brendan has said as much himself - he's had to play with functionality over style due to injuries, etc.

He needs to have reserves who can play the main style though, or there's no point. Musonda and Compper were supposed to help with that, I reckon.

I see Ki has announced he is leaving Swansea. If Rogic goes I wonder if we would look at that. Unlikely I know.

I'd take him for sure, but I'd say he's more of a Ntcham type than Rogic or Armstrong.

Did Ki play under BR at Swansea?

I reckon we will need to buy at least 2 strikers on top of Edouard signing. Griff isn't first choice and tbh looks past his best. Ideally not two 19 year olds or loan players.

Yesterday Armstrong was the only one who looked dangerous with his running taking shots outside the box. If he goes we should be looking for a like for like replacement.
Griffiths is 27.
Nowt to do with his age. He keeps picking up the same injury and when he does get time hasn't shown much. I'd be delighted if he comes back to form I just don't see him being first pick and scoring 30+ goals next year.
Saying a footballer is passed it almost always means that he’s getting on in years and isn’t the same player he was in his younger days.

Injury prone is a different thing entirely.

Iirc the medical team found out what was causing the recurring injury and are confident his injury worries are behind him.

Agreed.

Would still take him though, especially if Armstrong goes.

Announce someone blockbuster.

Actually, didn't Jim62 say that we'd be announcing something pretty big this coming week?

It really doesn't. Looking at Celtic alone, there are plenty of guys whose careers went no where after they left and not because they were well into their 30s.

It's great if they have found the problem though. The same thing was said about Forrest and I was sceptical but this year and last he's been great.

Ki and Ntcham are pretty similar styles of player. Ki can actually shoot though.
