Focus has to be on bringing in some real quality on a permanent basis.

No 2 month long sagas over the likes of Roberts or Musonda. If we are doing a loan it should be with a pre-set transfer fee at the end.

We need someone who can fill in for Brown domestically. A right back, a centre back, left back cover.

Goalkeeper is a position we could improve on but I don't see the desire to spend a lot on the position.

Wonder if Forster would have come back if Southampton went down?

I like McGinn, hes worth a punt but not at 5mill. Around 3 mill would be the limit but he would go up another level play wise under BR and the set up we have.

No way £5M - Even £3M is a stretch for a player going into the last year of his contract
but I agree he would improve under Brendan

Coming up we need -

Starters: at least one CB, a RB, probably a couple of CMs(depending on who leaves) and at least one Striker(hopefully Edourd and another)

Squad players/project: a back up LB

Could be a busy summer. Or more likely another transfer window of wailing and gnashing eeth.

I'd rather develop Kouassi and Ewan Henderson. Henderson looked a good prospect on Wednesday and a bit like Armstrong in his style of play, albeit based on a cameo appearance.

I realise I may have had (and still have) a strange imagination as a kid, but I've gotten to wondering if the weird associations I used to make between simple game playing actions like rolling a 6 when a player or cartoon character simultaneously appeared on tv, and my subsequent regard or disregard for them henceforth, is in some similar fashion an element of Brendan's judgement process in the binning of Gamboa, Compper, Musonda and Kouassi all of whom have been needed to varying extents due to injuries, loss of form and a pending cup final. The contortions employed to avoid playing them makes me suspicious however remote the likelihood.

It just completely defies logic.

Does he play Yahtzee or Ludo?...

and yes I know he's still done a very good job on the whole.

What I think we'll do....?

Gordon Bain de Vries means we're not spending money on a keeper.

Punt Gamboa and buy a right back to replace Lustig.

Loan a left back to cover Tierney.

Not sign a centre half.

Let Roberts leave. And loan a replacement who can cover left and right.

Let Armstrong leave and buy McGinn from Hibs.

Let Bitton go. Sign Rogic on a new contract.

Punt Kouassi on loan.

Re-sign Edouard on loan. And hold on to Dembele for one last season.

If Kouassi can't even get game time in a game like the other night then he's done here I'd say.

It's a strange one. He plays well when picked and looks very promising so i wonder what is stopping him getting more game time. I know he's raw and a bit tactically nieve, but these are things that imrove with games so if he isn't getting games for us we should loan him out to develop.

It'll be absolutely criminal if we go into another season with Boyata as our main centre back. We would deserve all we get. Apart from that id take the rest in a heartbeat.

Bitton's got no interest in going anywhere else from his previous comments.

Sort Rogic first, then Edouard and build from there.

Think Kouassi would be a really good player for a bottom half epl team. Has a lot of energy and is a good tackler but just dont know if he's technical enough to play cm in a team doing most of the attacking. His best game was Zenit at home and hasnt made much of an impression otherwise. He was meant to be a replacement for brown but dont think hes got the discipline to player that role.

Next season will be a big one for him
