Hearts are planning a move for Irish schoolboy sensation Bobby Burns. The 18-year-old Glenavon star is regarded as one of Northern Ireland football's brightest talents and last month made his Under-21 debut at left-back against Iceland. (Daily Record)

Back up for KT ? . Anybody know where his loyalties lie ?
We should sign Shinnie as back up to Tierney. He would be more than adequate for domestic football.

Doubt he would be willing to come as back up or return to left back role.

Rodgers will continue to use McGregor as back up and probably Hayes when he returns.

I would be looking to spend a large chunk of our summer budget on a quality forward thinking right back.

Think not having one is a major flaw in our game. So many times our right winger gets the ball in a dangerous area and doesn’t have anyone overlapping them which makes us very one dimensional at times.

Basically we need someone on the right to do what Tierney does on the left. Lustig has never been one to bomb up and down the wing and has now regressed as a defender. Gamboa who could be our best bet for that I don’t think has the composure when he gets in the final third to put in good deliveries enough times. Ralston is out on loan and maybe unrealistic to think he can make the position his own next season. We’ve tried Ajer and Hendry there but none of them are right backs.

It’s a problem position and one I hope we resolve in the summer.

Tierney plays as a left midfielder most of the game. It's deliberately one sided from BR.

If we did that on both flanks we'd have two at the back.

It could easily be rotated. When Tierney goes forward the rb stays back and vice versa.

Tierney is more in midfield than back. He is more of an attacking outlet than a defensive one. What you're suggesting would have him fall back more. While I agree we need a RB, we need a baby-eating, granny tackling, spikey whippet from some Eastern European ghetto who gets a stauner at the thought of sticking the welly into uppity wide players.

Like Simunovic and Majstorovic? We can’t even sign a half decent Eastern European baby-eater

I'd be happy with someone in the same vein as Mikael Lustig - not as attacking as Tierney, happy to slot into a back three if required, comfortable getting forward to support the winger if required.

Whilst we play with Forrest on the right, there's no need for an attacking wing back down the right; they'd both be looking to exploit the same space. Tierney works well with Sinclair because Sinclair looks to go inside the full-back and Tierney looks to go outside.

Lustig gives as a versatility that often gets overlooked. We can switch between a back three and a back four at will when he plays right back; that's something I'd be keen to see us continue next season.

Brown would drop back if one or both full backs were bombing forward so we'd have three

I liked the look of young RB at Crystal Palace (Wan-Bissaka). I know England is not the place for bargains. Maybe if they go down.

Half-Serbian. Maybe it was the Swedish influence that tempered his baby-eating tendencies. Next time we need to go full-Serb.
