I think - despite most of us agreeing otherwise - we can give up on the goalie position for another year. If Gordon recovers, he's the no1 for the forseeable.

Based on what?
Based on the squad screaming out for a number 1 keeper and we buy Scott Bain

Anyone who thinks this was a great window is kidding themselves. Similarly anyone who thinks it was poor is equally in denial. It was an extremely mixed window.

Bains a loan till the end of the season , which is when we will be looking for a new no1 anyway. Dont expect Bain will even play a game. Gordons injury was a bit late in the window to expect anything other than a stop gap till the summer.

Didn't really expect anything from this window so I'm pleasantly surprised we managed to strengthen in some key areas. Really looking forward to seeing what Musonda can do, but equally a lot of it is all about the development of players like Kouassi and Ajer.

I like the trajectory.

Rodgers also said " Ntcham can't play 3 games in a week " 4 weeks ago. Played him 4 times in 10 days since.

People say things all the time, some are a backtrack, some things prove to be wrong further down the line. Rodgers may indeed be happy with what he's got. Should keep for a contented manager and that's all I care about.

Rodgers also said this right after about Ntcham, "When he has the
games in his legs and
the body to sustain it without risking injury,
he will play more
consecutive games." Which he has done. Otherwise he would have been either injured or struggling to perform against Hearts, neither of which happened.

So it's not really a thing, is it?
I have absolutely no doubt Ntcham could play 3 games in a week. Like he has done easily in the last 4.
That was the same belief I had before he was dropped ( wrongly) for the Rangers game. And this 3 games in a week thing came into being.
It was an excuse for a poor decision imo. Borne out with Ntcham strolling through 4 games in what 10 days?

We need a new number 1 keeper and Rodgers was happy to go out and sign Scott Bain. It shows that Rodgers doesn't see a new #1 goalie as a priority.

There's no indication that we're looking for a new goalie at all.

Including Brendan?

If he's happy & he says he is, then that'll do for me.
Very interested to see Hendry, as I've not noticed what Brendan has.

It showed we had 72hrs from Craig’s injury to find a replacement . Long term we may well be looking for something better than Gordon. Signing Bain was an emergency signing .

I’m delighted with the window . We’re stronger and kept our best players , added a few for the first team, signed a few for the future. Highlight being Musonda. Very pleased

Give it a month, then we can look back at the effectiveness of this window. It's not just who we bring in but ultimately how those moves effect the players we already have, new options that become available to the manager, in what way to these new guys elevate us and how we kick on from there.

So far, so good but let's see eh?

46 players linked for the January window. 5 signed plus 2 youth signings.

Spoiler: click to toggle
just shows how badly the press want to sell papers - we might have had an interest/contacted their clubs in a 1/3 of those players

He would say that wouldn’t be.

He would be mad to say otherwise.

Musonda turned it from a poor window to an acceptable one, but worryingly for me we aren't building a team. Maybe that's where we're at now, and the real special players have to come in on loan and do a job for a short space of time as their prices go nuclear.

If so, it's a shame, but if that's the world we're in, that's the world we're in.

Good window. Very optimistic about us going forward. I know there's a case for making sure the board invest properly, but the level of negativity from some is seriously suspect imo.
