Powderpuff window.

Much needed experience brought in at centre-back (arguably our weakest position) but by all accounts, a journeyman type.
Let's hope he has a late flowering purple-patch :twitch:

Two more projects signed from Scotchland :suspect: but at least the manager has some pedigree in bringing through youngsters....

A raz-a-mat-az-unproven player.
There's an oxymoron for ye!
Seems to be the creative type, though, so let's hope he goes on to pull up a few trees :)

Goalie was injured late in the window, but given he already has one dodgy knee, the fact that it's his other wan that's goosed this time, hardly fills me with hope for the future.
Let's all hope Big Doris doesnae see a ghost and take fright before a big game, or we just might see Roy Bain starring for us, between the sticks.

5.5/10 must do better

 If Bagheera had posted this....

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Now who needs to manage their expectations.

;)

They skooshed their section and score lots of goals. We've a better chance away from home.
They were beaten by Utrecht away in qualifying, and drew 1 all with Rosenborg away in the group. They've not played a competitive match for about 2 and a half months.

You called the Zenit game "a dead rubber no matter who we sign"

That was a month ago.

2 weeks from right now Flawless will be sitting in the boozer belting out some rebs with 4-0 Celtic on his coupon. :rocker:

Mediocre window at best.

Compper - I like the idea but I'm not sure I like him as the actual. Obviously haven't seen him play for us yet.

Morgan - who knows? A project playing at a low level. We won't even see him till next season at least.

Hendry - another project. Not good enough for our first team at present.

Bain - emergency on loan signing who will probably play one game max. This leaves the worrying prospect of De Vries as our number one through the big games. Gordon was unchallenged by De Vries. A big drop in standard (and I'm no fan of Gordon).

Musonda - potentially a great signing. A bums on seat signing. Hopefully not playing as winger though. It was a 10 we needed and I hope that's where we see him. He looks the part though.

Outs

Didn't really do much on the deadwood. As usual, best we can cobble together are loans (bar Henderson).

Haven't strengthened at goalkeeper, right back or centre half. Given they are our main weak spots this is worrying. Don't see much hope of progressing in Europe. We need to strengthen defence for qualifiers in Summer. Again, we will potentially be bedding guys in or going with what we have.
We could maybe loan Morgan to Aberdeen next season when Christie returns.
I'm not convinced Christie will make it with us.
Neither am I, but it’s make or break for him. He deserves a chance until the window closes.

Rodgers also said " Ntcham can't play 3 games in a week " 4 weeks ago. Played him 4 times in 10 days since.

People say things all the time, some are a backtrack, some things prove to be wrong further down the line. Rodgers may indeed be happy with what he's got. Should keep for a contented manager and that's all I care about.

if he wasnt happy he would have said so like last the last 3 transfer windows when he lamented the positions we didnt cover

thats not exactly what he said about ntcham either, he said he needed to build him up to play so many consecutive games and hes had a break plus a week in dubai with the team since. his fitness and stamina is clearly a lot better now. instead of tiring in the 2nd half he was still dominating and bursting forward in the final minutes the other night

Quality and pedigree aren't the same thing. BR clearly sees big Hendry as a quality player and, as with everything, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

We'll agree to disagree. He made a mistake not playing him against the huns, and he trotted out an excuse for the mistake.

Then wallop within 25 days or so, Ntcham fitness was magically transformed. After a week in Dubai.

I'm still meh at our transfer dealings.
The summer is going to be full on in getting prepared for CL qualifying, still think that this was the window to strengthen the core of the team, particularly defence and a keeper.

I'll reserve judgement until I get a proper look at Hendry and Marvin.

Good window.

At the back, I think Compper will be a good signing and it's clear that Brendan rates Hendry highly. With Boyata looking a bit more like himself, Simunovic back from injury and Ajer impressing, we look a lot better at the back than we did at the start of December.

Musonda will give us quality and the ability to do something a bit different, which we have been sorely missing with Rogic injured. The fact that he can play across the attacking midfield positions in great. Excited to see him get a run.

Bain is a stopgap and will likely not get much game time. Decent enough.

Morgan is a risk-free punt.

Most importantly, we didn't lose any of our key players (in particular Moussa).

I think the big positions which need to be addressed long-term are GK and RB. I didn't expect them to be filled in the January window so can't really complain there, but Gordon's injury and Lustig's form/injury leave us looking a bit thinner than we might otherwise have looked. These positions need to be addressed in the summer.

Pretty confident we'll smash hun. There's no way we could have signed players to guarantee beating Zenit. It shouldn't be a factor in our signings.

I don't think the Zenit game had any bearing at all in Brendan's thinking.

Rodgers also said this right after about Ntcham, "When he has the
games in his legs and
the body to sustain it without risking injury,
he will play more
consecutive games." Which he has done. Otherwise he would have been either injured or struggling to perform against Hearts, neither of which happened.

So it's not really a thing, is it?
