It was a solid window, saved from very underwhelming due to the signing of Musonda. The rebuild job is going to be huge in the summer, were already looking like needing a new keeper and right back added to the current squad and with the likely outgoings of Dembele, Roberts, Armstrong and Boyata/Jozo thats the core of a team wiped out. It's good that we know this far in advance and we can get prepared but let's face it, were Celtic and we will leave it all to get sorted in the last week of August
I'd hope that the majority of the money made from Moussa, Armstrong and Jozo would go back into replacements for those core positions. My guess is that we'd make around £30m for those 3 players... Ntcham looks like he's taking the Armstrong role. If Paddy Roberts is interested in a permanent move we should do what we can to make it happen. Dread to think about the Summer Transfer Thread as we search for the new striker and two new CBs And we'd still need a RB and GK on top of that. Yep you've pretty much got the same feeling as me
We should have stacks of cash in summer - try and get paddy on a permanent, attempt to get a dembele like replacement, along with a first team quality GK, RB and CB. It's gonna be a long summer

A week ago it was panic stations. We looked like we weren't going to splash the cash and tbh we still haven't really?
The loan signing is what it is. He isn't our player but we will use him and be better for it.
Few projects signed and an experienced defender. Happy enough with what we have. Hopefully the 2nd half of the season, we can limit the injuries to key players as the whole first half of the season we have literally been littered with injured players/players returning/players breaking down again etc.
The Summer window is probably where we will see our main changes made. A few positions that need upgrading as well as players hitting the worthless or sell date in their contracts. All that makes sense but unfortunately with us it is always the next window
We've heard it all before, January is a hard window to get quality, Summer is hard because of the wait and see most adopt till end of the window then fees go right up
We have glaring deficiencies in defence that have not been addressed over last 2 windows and whether it is an all summer pursuit of PR7 or Charly bhoy coming in whilst these are great no one will think so when our defence gets a roasting as per usual
We need a new keeper - when Gordon returns expect that to be shelved once more
We need a quality right back -
We need another quality CB - neither boyata (who is a bombscare v quality) nor Jozo (who should have been punted on basis of astana no show alone) will do and a kid from Dundee nor Ajer (who struggled against conor effin sammon)are going to be good enough for cl
And KT needs back up
And we are not moving enough people out of squad who are not part of future - gamboa, boyata, jozo, armstrong

By all accounts he wants to play at the WC so I'm very surprised he didn't go.
I wonder if Armstrong injury scuppered any move for him.
You are forgetting about Compper in your CB comment but I agree moving Jozo at least seemed like the thing to do given he can't play 3 matches in a row and has questionable commitment

I think - despite most of us agreeing otherwise - we can give up on the goalie position for another year. If Gordon recovers, he's the no1 for the forseeable.

The performance the other night suggests, were not as bad off as some believe But there is a lack of consistency in respect of such performances

We have emerged stronger from the window. Not by a great margin but stronger nonetheless. If we can get Dembele firing again, Rogic and Roberts fit and Musonda; could be an exciting second half to the season.

We've left ourselves a hell of a lot of work to do in the next transfer window if we want to move to the next level.

gk, rb and lb are positions id be happy to see new signings but in all fairness brendan has shown no interest in getting them. not really a failure of the window if the manager wasnt looking to bring them in
gk never seemed a priority after giving gordon a bumper new deal plus dorus a new one.
rb he obviously rates ralston highly and doesnt think lustig is done
lb cover is a strange one though given miller has barely played and theres noone else. seen a few mentions of compper being able to cover there but dont think brendan said anything about that and the only spell he seemed to have at lb was about 7 year ago

Based on what? Agree with flawless. My feeling is that, other than kicking, gordon is fine. We gave him a new contract. Manager will be strengthening elsewhere.

Yep I agree, and surely that is what you have to base the success of a transfer window on? A decent window all in.

Yep I agree, and surely that is what you have to base the success of a transfer window on? A decent window all in. Not selling any of our major players was more important than anyone we brought in. Let's hope Dembele gets his head down..

Mediocre window at best.
Compper - I like the idea but I'm not sure I like him as the actual. Obviously haven't seen him play for us yet.
Morgan - who knows? A project playing at a low level. We won't even see him till next season at least.
Hendry - another project. Not good enough for our first team at present.
Bain - emergency on loan signing who will probably play one game max. This leaves the worrying prospect of De Vries as our number one through the big games. Gordon was unchallenged by De Vries. A big drop in standard (and I'm no fan of Gordon).
Musonda - potentially a great signing. A bums on seat signing. Hopefully not playing as winger though. It was a 10 we needed and I hope that's where we see him. He looks the part though.
Outs
Didn't really do much on the deadwood. As usual, best we can cobble together are loans (bar Henderson).
Haven't strengthened at goalkeeper, right back or centre half. Given they are our main weak spots this is worrying. Don't see much hope of progressing in Europe. We need to strengthen defence for qualifiers in Summer. Again, we will potentially be bedding guys in or going with what we have. We could maybe loan Morgan to Aberdeen next season when Christie returns.

I'm happy enough with how it all panned out.
Coupled with the players we'll have back from injury soon, I expect we'll really kick on from here.
We still need a GK & RB, but Brendan will be well aware of this & I'm sure will be planning ahead accordingly.

Based on what? He gave Gordon a 3 year deal, his understudy a new deal.
Shows no sign of going for a goalie at all.

Good window.
Faulty revolving door.
Hardly. Five in, five out. One huge talent, one experienced centre half, and two Scottish born players that everyone in the game has been raving about. We'll do more in the summer as well. Maybe Edouard on a permanent deal, plus a right back. Life is good. I was just trying to be funny
