Do folk like Commons actually forget that they played for Celtic? I'm all for ex-players giving a balanced enough view, but that nonsense about Murty and points/top of the league is just antagonistic effing nonsense. He's going the way of Andy Walker. Desperate to ingratiate himself with the Sevco press. What he doesn't get though, is that going against the grain will be better for him in the long run. Sutton is probably one of the most watched pundits in British sport precisely because he refuses to be in someone else's back pocket.
Hell mend Commons. The way it's going he'll become a Proven like pariah, despised by the very support that used to love him.

He is nervous and struggles to get his words out. He talks complete pish. Hopefully Sky get rid of him at the end of the season. He brings nothing to the table.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
seems to always be staring at a pancake on the ceiling whilst trying to configure a coherent sentence in his heed. Cant stand the guy, and I also think that as much as he did well at times for us, he was an over rated and quite lazy player. Generally speaking.
He was more than decent for us but his media work is laughable. He has bent over and received a bloated media bobby. Yeah.
I know it has been contested on other threads but as a player he was a hun skelper and to try to diminish this is a poor show. Great signing for the money and did a very good job for us overall.
Cannot be denied.
However he is wooden as feck along with Monster Munch Boyd on TV and quite where SKy get their anchors and "pundits" from christ knows...literally all are horrific.
Plus the fact Commons is now talking Andy Walker level utter pish to get noticeed in media. Very dissapointing.

Kris Commons said if Murty was in charge from the start of the season then Sevco would be top of the league.
Which league though In reality he has done better than Pedro. However, we have more points than sevco since Murty took over, only one more mind but ifs and buts. Also they have Killie and Motherwell after us plus the fixtures after the split so apart from the Aberdeen game they could struggle.

Quite sad really. His playing career is over, and his finances being as healthy as they are in his mid 30’s won’t last forever, he NEEDS a job of some capacity within football. And Sky will pay him more to give the opinion he thinks they want, than earning his coaching badges and managing some semi professional number in a league backwater somewhere in the country or elsewhere. Because let’s be honest, going by his tactical analysis during broadcast, he’ll never make it in management, and tbf I think he knows that. Very sad indeed, and almost sympathetic. But I can’t feel too sorry for an ex player of the club I support (who was very good to him btw) to take the cowards’ approach and dance like a monkey for Sky to pocket a very decent pay packet by talking utter bollocks about Celtic, and showing next to no passion or fondness for the club he played for for years when discussing them on the tele. Kris, you’re an utter donkey, and it truly pains me to say it. Easily the next Andy Walker.

Actually grow to majorly dislike any player who cannot have a backbone to defend the club..thought Commons would have been different way gaffer sent him off at CP last year and singled him out as a major contributor via the microphone. How the worm turns!
Nicholas, Walker, Burley and to an extent Provan have all had a go and they are quite clearly aware of how it works in this country and what we are up against....yet they do it.
David Hay (level 5 website aside), Tom Boyd & Packie Bonner, and Sutton always say the right thing and simply do not follow the mantra up her by buying into the Sevco/Hun love in.
Kris Commons....disappointing as you say like the ones above the club were good to them.

He screwed up with the Dundee riot thing, but he knows that , and has been pretty sound since then.
As for KC, words fail me. I am sure he is bitter towards BR more than Celtic, but get over it man. P

Did he actually say that? Got a link?
Commons ate all the links. If sevco hadn't been such a laughing stock for the first half of the campaign Celtic would have upped our game. There would have been far fewer draws had sevco been anywhere near us.

Sutton speaks his mind and gets plenty of media work both North and South of the border. He’s arguably one of the most visible pundits in the British game right now as his frankness is what people want to see. You’d think the likes of Commons would look to his example and try to be his own man.

Radio Scotland discussing Murty getting the job beyond the end of this season - Kenny McIntyre supportive, highlighting that when he took over Celtic were 8 points ahead and he has cut it to 6. Nae mention, of course, of us having game in hand against Dundee at home

Commons is a nice guy but not the brightest, like many footballers He comes across as rather slow and ponderous in his deliberations, even when being fed simple questions. He wants to please his new employers, many of whom at Sky are old school Huns. He probably isn’t aware that he is being used, if we do the business on the park then his mutterings will be shown up for what they are, pish Tend to agree with this now - even though I always had him pegged as a future uncle Tim. The thick bit imo is spot on. However I think the guy is just one of these people who always wants to please those around him and do & say what they want. So when he was with us he did a lot of stuff with supporters etc and seemed to buy into the whole Celtic thing. Now he will say what ever keeps his media 'friends' happy. He is not really insincere, just weak.

So should Commons look towards Chris Sutton and follow his example or should Commons be his own man? I’m not suggesting he try and be a Sutton clone. It’s not exactly difficult to be independently minded yet be inspired by other people.
