It's 46 years since St. Johnstone won at the Bigotdome...... That's impossible, when the team that plays out of there, is only 5 years old.....
I know, I should have said the first time a team in light blue playing out of Ibrox and calling itself Rangers had lost at that crumbling wreck against St Johnstone since 1971 but I didn't have the time, so just shortened it.

Thankfully, I've managed to shift a few things around this afternoon and can now refer to them in the normal way.

Conversation about the media in work here, before I get this wrong.

Leckie once wrote an article about a minutes silence being broken by Celtic fans coughing to the tune of a reb?
Yeah along those lines, sure he said the coughs represented the dying breath of the 66 or something? Completely moronic and utterly disrespectful. But typical of the journalism in this country.
That sounds as if it's almost entirely made up.

And, indeed it is.
No it is not.
Leckie's article specifically referenced the 66 Ibrox dead
You may owe Mcgeady46 a wee bit of an apology, Ned

"And where the ultra-moronic found a surreal way to try and screw up a tribute to the 66 lives lost in the 1971 Ibrox Disaster.

As the stadium fell still on ref Craig Thomson’s whistle, a cough came from the Celtic End. Then another. Then another and another and lots more anothers until it was as clear as the red nose on a flu-ridden reindeer’s face that this was an orchestrated effort to make a point.

What that point was, we’ll never know."

I'd already posted that quote above I think.

It doesn't say anything like 'representing the dying breath of the 66' so if the guy wants facts to present to his workmates then that line is utterly made up.

The minute silence was for the 66 people who died so he obviously specifically mentioned it. But there's a difference between what he did say and what he was supposed to have said, and they were idiotic enough in their own right.

McGeady46's reading of what Leckie was getting at is an entirely feasible interpretation.
You said he made something up - he didn't. He called what he thought Leckie was getting at & I think there is a fair chance he is correct.
"Made up" is a different thing entirely.

Before this thread gets caught up in nuances and interpretations, a wee story from Si Ferry.

'S*** his pants' Rangers goalie Wes Foderingham was told to get train home before HALF-TIME by Celtic idol Paolo Di Canio after being hooked by ex-Swindon boss
Simon Ferry revealed all about the incident in his latest Christmas special episode of Open Goal with Chick Young

Aberdeen director accused of betting in nearly 1500 games so let’s pick out one game against Celtic so that effwits can try and taint Celtic’s achievements.

the first half on Sportscene.
they also conveniently edited out the assault on Moussa in the 1st half - I thought it was a red card yesterday and wanted to see why the thug was only shown a yellow.
Also no mention of the fact 2 rangers players should have had 2nd yellows - Tavernier fr his 2nd assault on the winger and John for going into the crowd to celebrate
