Charlie Nick was great player until he was 21 and an average one after that. He had three outstanding seasons as a young Celtic player and went onto establish himself as a decent Aberdeen one. He was rid rotten at Arsenal.
Many Arsenal fans would disagree with you.
Charlie was an extremely gifted player who perhaps made some wrong choices
in his playing career....(not going to Liverpool)
As a professional "pundit"he is still one of Sky's highest paid.
Unlike other posters(not you)I certainly wouldn't call him a moron.

Unsurprisingly lots of pesh being spouted on Off The Ball. Sinclair was 'brushed'....No intent....Charlie Richmond saying it wasn't a pen based on what Sinclair said afterwards...the McGregor one wasn't a penalty because he 'instigated the contact'. Typical Scottish media. Too many other wee comments and digs to mention. To be expected but still a little disappointed at Richard Gordon digging his heels in and not backtracking on his Wednesday comments.
So if it wasn't a penalty on Wednesday, what is the correct call?

They're either saying it's 'play on' when a guy is barged with two hands and a knee, or they're saying it's a free kick to Motherwell.

Do these effers even bother to consider the Laws of the Game before they spout off? Remember 'the ball didn't change direction enough'? Some absolute nonsense goes unchallenged in this country. There's usually a common theme, as well.
There’s quite a few ‘neutrals’ trying to claim it wasn’t a penalty as McGregor was offside. The argument seems to stem from the fact he ran back into the pitch. The fact the last player to touch the ball was Motherwells keeper, and the last Celtic player to touch it was McGregor himself, isn’t mentioned as it completely blows their argument apart.

Motherwell are just pawns and a useful tool to pro Sevco / anti Celtic SMSM. When they knocked out Sevco they were portrayed as thugs who knocked the noble Sevco out unfairly. Their portrayal changed dramatically as soon as we got near the final. Article after article about them about how they were going to stuff us and players we have never heard off were being interviewed all over the place. This continued after the final and the 1-1 game where they have been given carte blanche to spout their pish. If all this happened whilst playing Sevco believe you me the media narrative would of be completely different and they would be given no sympathetic airing at all.

Tam Cowan with a wee dig about Rugby leading the way on video technology. These guys think video refs would change anything?

Also nice to know that to prove Scottish refs are useless they'll get the opinion of... a Scottish referee.

effin laughable.

Everyone and their cat getting wheeled out now  Charlie Richmond ffs

The resentment gathering pace like a rolling yellow snowball.
And now Steven Thompson is on about a 'fans video' showing how Callum 'backed in'. What utter nonsense. I despair.
I just caught the end of Thomson's speaking about the second penalty. I am sure he said he had watched a " fan's video" taken by a Motherwell fan from behind the goal which clearly showed Calmac backing in. If the video was from behind the goal this is the Celtic end and the phone video on the internet showed the opposite. Steven being a bit untruthful????

I see Charlie Nic is calling BR and his Celtic team on integrity via his column in the Express. Self awareness has never been one of Charlie’s strong suits, but even for him that’s weapon grade stupidity.
From being adored to being abhorred. Wink
Was my hero as a youngster, i find it hard to muster any hatred for him.
Persevere.

Charlie will go to his grave full of bitterness and bile. His career went into nosedive after Celtic and he has never got over it. As I can recall quite clearly he couldn't hack the English First Division and looked totally p**h and clueless EVERY time the ball came near him, like Bambi on ice. Now makes a career as the Court Jester on SKY where decent players like Phil Thompson, Le Tissier and Merson look on him with professional contempt as they know he never cut any ice there.

He’s just another Uncle Tim, betraying his heritage to keep onside with his media masters. Craven soup taker.

Michael Stewart, on the other hand, comes out of that story about Levine thoroughly cool and level headed.
That "soup taker" patter is horrific.
Really?

Horrific?

:ffs:
Yes, horrific, really, if you know your history. You think An Gorta Mor and the fallout from that is something to trivialise? You think that starving parents who had to renounce their faith so they and their children wouldn't starve to death in the effing gutter is something to trivialise?
