Charlie couldn’t tell you the teams that make up the Scottish Premier League his head’s that far up English footballs arse. His opinion is irrelevant.

Few ex Celts either love sticking the boot in under the old lie of “calling it how I see it”

Walker, Burley,Nicholas,Mark Wilson.

It mystifies me to be frank why they do it and some with literally no clue about how currently Scottish football operates

Few genuine Celts who have had or have media TV or column duties and IIRC stick up for the club and us and love for the club and all it entails.

Tom Boyd,Davie Hay, Sutton, Lenny...

Might be missing one or two.

He’s just another Uncle Tim, betraying his heritage to keep onside with his media masters. Craven soup taker.

Michael Stewart, on the other hand, comes out of that story about Levine thoroughly cool and level headed.
That "soup taker" patter is horrific.
I don’t think it is. I think it’s spot on.

I remember Charlie's early forays into the media up here. He was on the radio and, while the other pundits were extolling the romance of the Scottish cup, and how those that turned out for the diddy teams were the real fitba fans, he let loose and said (and I'm paraphrasing): 'When I played for Clyde, I went to all those wee grounds you're talking about, and week after week I was showered with some of the most vile sectarian abuse I've heard in my career, so don't tell me that these are the greatest fans in the country.'

There was an uncomfortable silence, and then rest of the pundits moved on to wax lyrical about the Bully Wee and the Blue Brazil. Didn't hear much from Charlie Nick on the radio after that, then his career as Sky's resident Gooner kicked off.

He knows what side his bread's buttered on, and his early digs at Lawwell were not a million miles away from what you'd read on here and other Celtic boards, but like Keevins, McNee and many others, he seems to have let a personal vendetta against someone at the club calcify into a general anti-Celtic sentiment. Which just happens to be a lot more profitable for those concerned. Funny that.

Charlie’s love at a dig at Celtic preceded Lawell, he was feeding Gerry McNee his crap back during McCann’s time.

An snake with zero credibility with anyone involved in football.

Can't explain the others, but Charlie Nic has an over inflated sense of entitlement. He believes the Club should throw open their doors and welcome him back as some sort of Messianic figure and the fact is they don't. Not sure if there's a reason for it, but he's treated like any other punter by Celtic, and he doesn't like it one bit. He alluded as much in an interview with Graham "Rimjob" Hunter.

Which is why he sticks the boot in every so often. eff him, he's an arsehole.

After going on about the penalties against Motherwell, Pumpkin Tam Cowan on Radio Scotland:

" I'm glad it happened to Motherwell, coz if it happened to Celtic we'd never have heard the end of it"

See all this 'controversial' pish...has anyone in the media actually felt able to tell us why McGregor's wasn't a penalty?

Did Tam furnish us with his wisdom?

Unsurprisingly lots of pesh being spouted on Off The Ball. Sinclair was 'brushed'....No intent....Charlie Richmond saying it wasn't a pen based on what Sinclair said afterwards...the McGregor one wasn't a penalty because he 'instigated the contact'. Typical Scottish media. Too many other wee comments and digs to mention. To be expected but still a little disappointed at Richard Gordon digging his heels in and not backtracking on his Wednesday comments.

Remember when we wrote to the authorities after not getting a "real" stonewall penalty whilst 1-0 up against ICT in a Scottish Cup Final ? (four officials missed a blatant handball)

Cue the opprobrium of sore losers, just accept it etc as huge amounts of column inches were turned over to diatribes about how dare Celtic complain.

Any media criticism about Motherwell's letter re penalties - other than Sutton, not that I can see. Not that I will shed tears for Sevco, but Motherwell also got away with murder in the semi-final.

Charlie Nick was great player until he was 21 and an average one after that. He had three outstanding seasons as a young Celtic player and went onto establish himself as a decent Aberdeen one. He was rid rotten at Arsenal.

No time for guys like him. His own career flunked due to his poor choices and I doubt he has ever coached as much as boys club since he retired from playing. Should have been an all time great. Waste of talent. Poor type of guy to give advice or criticism.
He was coaching kids with Davie Cooper when he died.
One of the lads I played in the same boys club was there that day. That was for a training video.

trust me, the carrot wasn't doing it for the good of anyone other than himself.

And now Steven Thompson is on about a 'fans video' showing how Callum 'backed in'. What utter nonsense. I despair.

So if it wasn't a penalty on Wednesday, what is the correct call?

They're either saying it's 'play on' when a guy is barged with two hands and a knee, or they're saying it's a free kick to Motherwell.

Do these effers even bother to consider the Laws of the Game before they spout off? Remember 'the ball didn't change direction enough'? Some absolute nonsense goes unchallenged in this country. There's usually a common theme, as well.
