Celts will suffer in France

Matthew Lindsay

Just think of it. When Celtic step out to play the might of PSG on Wednesday in Paris it will be akin to a side like Ross County going to face the very outfit that will get scudded beyond belief by Neymar and Co.

It must be daunting for any side in Scotland going to Celtic Park, knowing that they have little chance of getting a result or a fair hearing. Well, let's see how Celtic like it this week.

As the Champions League music starts up players who lord it over the rest of Scotland like Scott Brown, Stuart Armstrong and Mikael Lustig will be crapping potatoes. And how will they like it?

They won't simple as. It will be a tanking, a caning, a blootering. An embarrassment.

Ross County deserved at least a point on Saturday, make no mistake about that. Celtic had to bring on a substitute - a perfectly legal move within the rules of the game as it stands - to take a disputed free kick to take all three points.

Ha ha. They can bring on another 11 players this week in the Parisian cauldron and it still won't make any difference at all. 6-0 home win MINIMUM.

As for Rangers, despite a loss to Hamilton at the weekend Derek McIness will be their new manager and the home side would have won 10-2 had they scored 10 goals.

What do Celtic think of that indisputable fact?

Paris won't be the city of love for the bedraggled east end outfit. More like divorce for manager and club and a downward spiral into hell.

This.
Cannot understand why anyone would think any differently.
The paedo patter from Huns is the absolute lowest
This, anybody high up in a human trafficking unit finding child abuse funny/ worthy of banter etc beggars belief
Aye, but she might be good at her job.
Think of all the people she could have saved from being trafficked and they would only be subjected to her witty banter

I got lifted along with about ten others when I was sixteen. Age ranging from 13 - mid 20's - there were a couple of older lads with us.

Our crime - meeting up to go for a game of football. We were gathering to meet, near Partick Train Station. Spotted a meatwagon at Morrisons. They were obviously in for their dinner.

After they had finished at Morrisons, they spotted us and drove over. We didn't move as that would suggest we had something to hide and would have drawn attention. Sure enough, they pull over. Ask us why we didn't move when we saw the polis? Stated the obvious.

That's fine - would you all step into the van and we'll do a warrant check. There was 3 of them - we all easily could have refused or ran away. We didn't, we got in and subsequently they drove the police station and charged us all with BOTP. Kept us in for a few hours and phoned all our parents - even the boys in their 20's  despite us telling them not to bother. 5 of us who were sixteen or voer ended up having to go to court and the bastards statements were full of lies - saying we were terrorising the public and running in and out of shops. they stood under oath, in court, and repeated the same. Ended up Not Proven, thankfully, but they didn't give a eff.

Oh and when I was released from the cell the arsehole at the desk commented when he was returning my property. There's your belt, shoes and an acrobat, which was reference to my crucifix - carrot.

no doubt there are good eggs in the Polis, but most I've come across are total carrots.

Once spotted two cops go into the local chippie via the back door - dinner time . Gave them 10 mins to get settled and then called their cop shop reporting a huge fight around the corner from said chippie. Pulled up a chair and laughed as the 2 dicks ran like feck out the door putting their jackets on as they ran. Winks.
That wasn't very nice.
Not all cops are carrots.

For all the people who are having a go at the police, I am sure that you would be a bit cynical if you had to put up with half the crap that they do.

I understand that there are bad police officers and through internal procedures these are being weeded out. Maybe not to the extent some of you would like but it is happening.

I think the problem is some of us suffered badly due to bad policing in our youth and the fact that they appeared to be able to act with impunity.
I accept that times have changed, but it doesn't change my memories of what I had to put up with (and convictions that I shouldn't have) and I don't recall any policemen being brought to bear for all their lying and cheating (a bit like sevco).
I know quite a few policemen and they all seem to be good types and not carrots - 2 of my family are in the force- but, they may not act as nicely when their out on the beat.
I recall my brother telling me he got hauled over the coals by his superiors in Possil as his arrest stats weren't as good as the others and basically being told to get out there and arrest some more people - he didn't and ended up getting shifted to community police as they thought he was better suited to that!!!
With stuff like that and the knowledge that the police were happy to fit you up and happy to lie under oath in order to get a conviction, is it any wonder some of us still have an issue with the police?

The vast majority of my experiences have been poor !
However, compared to the police here , they are angels ! :suspect:
The best police money can buy here- literally !
