There should be a list compiled of the journos and their allegiance. Is it possible to keep it as the first post?

Hugh Keevins (Heinz Sou Celtic
Richard Gordon. Aberdeen
Why?

I don't care who they support I just want to read insightful accurate articles, id rather just what is written rather than who wrote it.

The shampoo they write must be costing others further down the line their jobs as well.

Everyone is aware of the chop in numbers buying the daily rags. No doubt a lot of that is down to Celtic and hun supporters not willing to pay for the crap they spew.

Leckie and the likes may be secure for now but I wonder how many juniors and back staff have lost work due to falling sales?

Falling sales are industry wide. If anything reporting on football teams like Celtic and Rangers is helping shore up sales of the Daily Record and the Sun whereas more traditionally non-football papers like The Herald and Scotsman are suffering even more.

There's a thread on FF and they seem to think that Leckie's a Tim.
If you go in any fans forum there will be threads about how the press are against them. Like internet bait links. They rile all supporters so we start talking about them and click on their website to see what all the comotion is about or buy the rag. Celtic and Sevco have the most fans so it makes sense to rile them up more. It's how they operate . just like sensationalist internet click bait don't be fooled and fall for the trap.

The simple fact is that the Scottish sports media (with some honorable exceptions) simply can't stand that it is Celtic who are on top. The fact that they still peddle the Rangers continuity myth shows your which side their bread is buttered.

If it were Rangers (sic) on top you wouldn't be hearing a peep about Scotland needing a "strong Celtic"
In the past the rule of thumb the Scottish redtops lived by was that there were two ways of using the back page to boost circulation - positive Deidco stories and negative Celtic stories....and it worked for them. Over the years I've heard a couple of Celtic supporting sports desk employees confirming that it had been proven true time and again that Rangers fans bought the papers to be told how great they were and Celtic fans bought them to get outraged at the bias against our club.

Things have changed now, and while there are some journos who still look to put a negative spin on all things Celtic for a variety of reasons (either their own football allegiance, because they are in cahoots with a certain PR company or in a few cases just through habit) it's only fair to recognise that most of the media (especially broadcast) have been fulsome in their praise of the job Brendan Rodgers is doing, the quality of the football we're playing and the level of our dominance in the domestic game.

Yes, most are still peddling the "no competition, we need a strong Rangers to challenge" line in the next breath....but TBF from their point of view their job would be a lot easier if they have the two teams with supports that dwarf the rest of Scottish fitba competing and that's all they really need to write about, so you can see why the media "need" a strong rangers even if the fans of every other club except the tribute act would sooner see them gone for good.

What I’ve always failed to grasp is the utter absence of any ex Rangers/Sevco man in the media who has a single bad thing to say about the comedy show at Ibrox. There are a few hacks who have the odd pop (typically, when you read what happened to Spiers, at some personal cost) but, despite a sequence of events over 6 years that would have generated reams of easy headlines, the best the media can drag up for “comment” is servile ex players with an odd specialism in excrement polishing, usually wittering on about “the need for a strong Rangers”.

Just imagine you were a journalist in Scotland and characters like Whyte, Green, Ahmed, King, Murray (potless), Minty et al were at large. Compare and contrast the treatment meted out to Fergus or Romanov with the near reverential pieces that greeted the arrival of the next Emperor Brogue to bull-plop his way up the marble staircase. Not to mention a decades worth of prose delivered from deep within Minty’s colon.

I’ve often wondered if they realise how significant their ongoing inability to be honest about an obvious omnishambles has been in delivering more than 5 years worth of absurdity.
It's their hilariously misplaced sense of superiority which will never allow them to think, "Hold on here, we're not the best team at the moment, how do we get to the top?". They think "We're not at the top, therefore, some forces must be conspiring against us, so we'll maintain our air of superiority, that'll work".

It's slightly less prevalent in the media, but not by much. The SMSM played their part in allowing the hoardes to believe everything was A-OK pre 2012, and I'm perfectly happy for them to proclaim that the next gardener is rosier than Pedro and for it all to turn to dung again in 8 months.

The sad fact is that if you want to get ahead in this country in football journalism then sucking up to the huns is the main part of it, always has been especially in Minty's time. Now it's really mainly huns who buy the papers. That's what having such a small number of 'big' clubs does. Even though Sevco are pathetic, they still have a lot of fans in Scotland. I will says that The Herald used to be the place where decent writers could be free from this but not now.

Maybe you have!

Collins Concise Dictionary:
Fulsome adjexcessive or insincere, esp in an offensive or distasteful way...
The problem with the internet is that American usage always takes precedence. I was only having a laugh anyway. I know how it's used nowadays. I just found it funny that it still worked in randombloke's post. :)

Batistuta.

It is somewhat odd/amusing the way all the familiar faces in the Scottish sports media, all claim to support the likes of Airdrie, Dundee, Stranraer, St Mirren, Livingston, etc, despite the league being dominated historically by only two clubs. The people who the huns associate as Celtic fans, tend to be so desperate to prove "impartiality" that they will happily give Celtic a shoeing.
