There’s absolutely no need for any of us Celtic fans to read the buffoons in the SMSM.

TinSoldier skewers them all,and their utterly twisted and barely joined-up guff,on behalf of us all.

Why would anyone be surprised that the man that wrote the diatribe below would be anti-Celtic :ponder:

The simple fact is that the Scottish sports media (with some honorable exceptions) simply can't stand that it is Celtic who are on top. The fact that they still peddle the Rangers continuity myth shows your which side their bread is buttered.

If it were Rangers (sic) on top you wouldn't be hearing a peep about Scotland needing a "strong Celtic"

The fact Leckie is the topic of discussion, means, he has done, what he set out to do.
Exactly, as Andy Warhol said (something like) “don’t read your reviews, weigh them”

I don't read any of the print media, and only ever see their scribblings when the online content has been copied & pasted into a thread on here.

It's not simply because of any real or imagined anti-Celtic bias that they show, it's because by and large they're terrible journalists. When they're not regurgitating PR nonsense they're making basic factual errors, and the standard of writing is generally an affront to the English language.

Stuff like the Leckie article is nothing more than click bait. It’s deliberately designed to upset people. How many folk will have sought out the story after seeing a “I can’t believe the shampooe Leckie wrote” type of posts on Twitter or messageboards? The likes of the Sun and the Daily Record know people won’t suddenly spend 50p on one of their papers but a large number might click on one or two stories that are of some interest to them. It’s difficult to starve them completely.

My gast was flabbered last night when I heard Adrian Durham on Talktroll praise Celtic for their performance against Bayern.
Especially the goal since it came from two former academy players.
No doubt he threw a few snide comments in as well somewhere, as he does.

It will soon be International week and the Hun PR will go into overdrive to let everyone know how good they are.

There'll be stories about Ryan Jack getting called up to the Scotland squad (after talking to Kenny and the Grass), there'll be stories about how the training has improved and how well they are all getting on, there'll be stories about how many "big names" have applied for the rangers job and there'll be exclusives form Bomber about his new scouting role and how great it is to be back at the ground he used to play in.

There'll be other stories about the Celtic players that are playing in International game sand how they are not playing as well as they did at the start of the season, tough games coming up for Celtic, playing in Europe after Christmas will damage Celtic's run in to the end of the season.

It's how they work and I enjoy seeing how they how big up anything that rangers do, which is things that other clubs do on a daily basis, but if rangers do it, it becomes "news" and must be reported and ex-players asked for their opinions on it.

In truth they are all reports that mirror something by TS. Think of something totally absurd to write about a football team, describe it as news or an exclusive and put rangers name on, rinse and repeat throughout the season.

That’s the first mention I’ve seen of Adrian Durham since he was touting Mark Warburton as a future England manager.

The media needs an audience to survive. Without an audience, they can't sell advertising space. Without advertising revenue, they go out of business.

The most positive step you can take is to ignore them.

What I’ve always failed to grasp is the utter absence of any ex Rangers/Sevco man in the media who has a single bad thing to say about the comedy show at Ibrox. There are a few hacks who have the odd pop (typically, when you read what happened to Spiers, at some personal cost) but, despite a sequence of events over 6 years that would have generated reams of easy headlines, the best the media can drag up for “comment” is servile ex players with an odd specialism in excrement polishing, usually wittering on about “the need for a strong Rangers”.

Just imagine you were a journalist in Scotland and characters like Whyte, Green, Ahmed, King, Murray (potless), Minty et al were at large. Compare and contrast the treatment meted out to Fergus or Romanov with the near reverential pieces that greeted the arrival of the next Emperor Brogue to bull-plop his way up the marble staircase. Not to mention a decades worth of prose delivered from deep within Minty’s colon.

I’ve often wondered if they realise how significant their ongoing inability to be honest about an obvious omnishambles has been in delivering more than 5 years worth of absurdity.

No Celtic fan is forced to read propaganda from ill-informed media hacks.

Stop reading them, that will accelerate their demise.
Yup, never read the print media and only hear about Leckie and co on here.

It’s bad enough having to put up with the likes of Walker on the TV who you genuinely cannot avoid.

I see Grant Russell has moved from stv to become motherwell's communications manager. Always came across pretty well and has a passion for the game, bit of a loss for stv.
