The Record (I know) reporting that Davies will only get a 2-match ban. Shocking if true. I wouldn't normally wish it on anyone but I'd like to see a similar type of tackle put on Morelos just to see the uproar then.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I'd just like to see it.
Yeah, from Brown. that would be a 10 match ban for him and Neil Lennon sent to the stand until 2020.

It’s a shame he’ll be kicking things in the Championship next season. I’d like to see Brown get a chance at retribution. If they are relegated he'll be off pronto. He will be on a big wage by their standard.

Matthew Lindsay at his hunbelievable best in today's Herald.
His report on Celtic's game v Ross County actually starts off with 4 paragraphs on "Rangers" including their January "signings" which he describes as
".targeting players with a proven track record at the top level in British football as well as talented youngsters with enormous potential"
WTF?
It's true Pish The extensive recruitment drive that Rangers embarked on back in January was rightly seen as being hugely significant in their protracted recovery from years of off-field turmoil.
Few suggested that bringing in Jason Cummings, Sean Goss, Russell Martin and Jamie Murphy on loan, recalling Joe Dodoo, Andy Halliday and Michael O’Halloran and signing Greg Docherty and Declan John would enable them to vie with Celtic for the Scottish title this season.
Still, targeting players with a proven track record at the top level in British football as well as talented youngsters with enormous potential was certainly a vast improvement on much of the transfer activity which had preceded it and improved them greatly.
That the Ibrox club still lag a considerable distance behind their Parkhead rivals was, though, obvious in a Glasgow derby match they lost despite having one more man on the park than their opponents for much of the second-half last month.
The vastly-superior resources that Brendan Rodgers has to his counterpart Graeme Murty was underlined further on Saturday as his side moved 12 points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership with seven games remaining with a 3-0 win over bottom-placed Ross County at home.
It wasn’t just that Stuart Armstrong started for the first time in three months, Jack Hendry came on for Dedryck Boyata at half-time in a tactical change or that long-term absentees Leigh Griffiths and Patrick Roberts got some game time which showed the abundance of talent that Celtic have.
No, it was the players who weren’t even involved. Dorus de Vries, Odsonne Edouard, Charly Musonda and Olivier Ntcham remained in the dugout for the duration of the 90 minutes. There was no place in the squad for Nir Bitton, Marvin Compper, Craig Gordon, Jonny Hayes, Eboue Kouassi or Jozo Simunovic.
Rodgers has better players on the bench, on the treatment table and in the stands than Murty has on the field.
Callum McGregor, who slotted in at left back in the absence of Tierney and performed with his usual aplomb, feels the impact the injuries Celtic have had this season has been underestimated by those who have been critical of their performances.
“The side looked fresh on Saturday,” he said. “With a lot of good attacking players in the team, there are threats from all over the pitch.
"The strength in depth of the squad is excellent. That was probably a great strength for us last season. We had everybody fit pretty much every week. There was competition for places. Boys were coming into the team and doing really well.
“It was great to have Stu, Griff and Paddy back again. We had a few injuries, especially over that Christmas period. We have been missing a few players, but we are still winning games and doing well. It’s credit to the boys and the squad that we’ve got.
“You’ve got really top players not playing, either on the bench or in the stand. So it keeps you fresh and keeps you hungry to be in the team. So if you’ve got to go and play left-back then you do that. I’m just delighted to be in the team. Being part of this team is excellent. There is always a real feelgood factor about the place. Hopefully we can kick on towards the end of the season.”
Armstrong, who has been out since undergoing a hernia operation in January, was involved in most of this side’s best attacking moves. He scored the second goal early in the second-half in between Moussa Dembele opening the scoring from the penalty spot and Tom Rogic wrapping up the three points. He was a worthy winner of the Man of the Match award.
Celtic will secure their seventh consecutive title in the coming weeks – possibly even on Sunday if they win both of their games this week and other results go their way – and will be confident of beating their city adversaries in the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden in a fortnight.
County, who had their captain Andrew Davies red carded six minutes before half-time for a shocking foul on Scott Brown, will be undeterred by this defeat. Their match against Partick Thistle, who remain just three points ahead of them after losing away to Hibernian on Saturday, in Dingwall tomorrow is of far greater importance.
“It was a free shot for us,” said Scott Fox, who replaced Aaron McCarey in goals in the first-half. “It was more about not taking a doing and looking ahead to Tuesday.
"There is a lot at stake for us. although it's football, it does affect livelihoods. I've experienced it before and you just need to do your best. Even if you make mistakes, if you are out there giving 100 per cent that's all people can ask for.
“We will keep fighting for every ball until it's impossible. It is nerve-wracking. Everything is cranked up a bit. But we have good boys in the squad, we will stick together and try to grind it out.
"The mental side could be the most important. There will be nerves and you have to make the right decisions. That will come down to experience and belief in yourself but we are more than confident we can get out of this mess.” The hurt is great.

Billy Dodds hurting bad. "Dodds added: “I think back to a horrendous challenge Brown made on Liam Boyce last season, when Rodgers came out after the game and said he didn’t see it". So that makes Saturday's tackle all right?
BAD INFLUENCE Former Rangers star Billy Dodds slams Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers for trying to influence the SFA into hammering Ross County skipper Andrew Davies Ex-County coach Dodds believes Rodgers is trying to influence the disciplinary department with his comments
Spoiler: click to toggle Exclusive By Robert Grieve BILLY DODDS has slammed Brendan Rodgers for trying to influence the SFA into hammering Andrew Davies. SunSport understands Ross County skipper Davies will NOT face extra punishment for his wild red-card challenge on the Celtic skipper in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat. But ex-County coach Dodds has accused Hoops boss Rodgers of trying to pressure SFA beaks and land Davies in bother. Dodds said: “It was a moment of madness from Davies and it was a terrible challenge, and the big man will know that. “Davies will feel he let his team-mates down by being sent off like that at a time when they needed all the help they could get. “During my time at County he was always first to hold his hands up whenever he made a mistake, and I’m sure he would have done that after the game. “You would struggle to find a player who is more honest than Davies is. “But some of the stuff from Brendan Rodgers after the game was uncalled for. “He mentioned how Jozo Simunovic got a two-game ban for his elbow in the Rangers game, and suggested Davies’ punishment should be worse. “For me, he was trying to influence the disciplinary department with his comments, and that didn’t sit well with me. “The SFA panel is a joke anyway with what goes on.” SFA compliance chief Tony McGlennan has the power to increase Davies’ automatic two-game ban. But it’s believed he’s decided to turn a blind eye to the horrendous tackle, as he doesn’t deem it more excessive than violent conduct. Brown was able to play on after being smashed by Davies. But Dodds — a respected pundit — points to a challenge the Hoops skipper made against County last term which saw him sent off. That red card was later downgraded to a yellow, which allowed Brown to face Rangers. Dodds added: “I think back to a horrendous challenge Brown made on Liam Boyce last season, when Rodgers came out after the game and said he didn’t see it. “Well, I saw the scrape marks from Boycie’s knee down to his ankle in the dressing room, and it wasn’t pretty. “You are not trying to tell me Scott Brown didn’t try to wipe out Boyce and do him some damage. “It was a crazy challenge from Davies and I’m not defending it. “I just don’t think Rodgers should have been trying to influence the punishment. “He also said how Davies was trying to make a name for himself. “But Davies did that when he knocked Chelsea out of the FA Cup with Bradford, as well as playing against Roma for Middlesbrough.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2449534/former-rangers-billy-dodds-celtic-brendan-rodgers-ross-county-andrew-davies/

I've always loved the name Accrington Stanley.
I had to check its origins. Accrington were an original member of the FA. There was another team in Accrington, whose ground was on Stanley St, in Accrington. The clubs merged. And there you have it.
Like a certain Scottish club this is not the original Accrington Stanley.

One snippet from Lindsay’s article which puts everything in perspective.....
“Rodgers has better players on the bench, on the treatment table and in the stands than Murty has on the field.”
All that needs to be said right there.

Billy Dodds hurting bad. "Dodds added: “I think back to a horrendous challenge Brown made on Liam Boyce last season, when Rodgers came out after the game and said he didn’t see it". So that makes Saturday's tackle all right? BAD INFLUENCE Former Rangers star Billy Dodds slams Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers for trying to influence the SFA into hammering Ross County skipper Andrew DaviesEx-County coach Dodds believes Rodgers is trying to influence the disciplinary department with his comments Spoiler: click to toggle Exclusive By Robert Grieve BILLY DODDS has slammed Brendan Rodgers for trying to influence the SFA into hammering Andrew Davies.
'Dodds - a respected pundit' Jesus wept. Aye we all remember that famous night for Middlesbrough.
He's seriously suggesting Rodgers shouldn't be allowed to comment on the latest serious assault on one of his players?

"Well I saw the scrape marks from his knee down to his ankle in the dressing room. It wasn't a pretty sight." Brown catches him on the ankle, absolutely nowhere near his knee. https://youtu.be/WtkToGwdt3w And no mention of what went on in the minutes before the tackle ? Boyce was proper at it.
No one can live with Brown. Fair means or foul. He’s bionic and it’s killing them
