I'm actually surprised that more isn't being made on the effect that the Sauchiehall fire is having on Celtic The Musical. "let down", "anguished" , "frustrated".
FUD, essentially.

Noticed SPFL Matters is on SKY.
Turned it on, saw McCann, Commons and Boyd.
McCann says he's "combustible". Turned it off.

"Jozo Simunovic gets two games for a slight elbow so I don’t know what that will be". Wonder how much the media will make of this challenge on Brown, will they focu on it they way they focussed on Jozo> Of course they won't, that's why it's good to hear BR speaking out.
'disgrace' Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers brands Andrew Davies’ challenge on Scott Brown as one of the worst tackles he’s seen during his time in Scotland The Staggies skipper was shown a straight red card for a stamp on Brown and Hoops' boss Rodgers felt it was a disgrace
Spoiler: click to toggle By Derek McGregor BRENDAN RODGERS branded red-carded Ross County captain Andrew Davies’ tackle on Scott Brown a DISGRACE. Celtic boss Rodgers and the rest of the team were left furious by Davies’ reckless and late 39th minute challenge on Brown who at the time was grounded. Referee Steven McLean didn’t hesitate to dismiss the stopper. And Rodgers – who described it as one of the worst tackles he’s seen in his near two years in Scotland – accused Davies of trying to make a name for himself. He said: “I feel sorry for the Ross County staff trying to take this team and keep them in the league – and I feel for the supporters travelling all the way down. “You’ve got your captain, who has probably got his most important game on Tuesday night, making a really poor challenge. “If you watch it again, it’s really poor. “Jozo Simunovic gets two games for a slight elbow so I don’t know what that will be. “You feel for the staff and supporters and the players losing their captain to a really bad challenge. “Then for us in the second half there’s a question being asked similar to what we had at Motherwell. “Could we learn, could we improve on the second half at Motherwell and we did that. “We scored two good goals, won the ball back quickly, counter-pressed it and had lots of chances. “As you saw, Scott got up and got on with the game. “There is no doubt the challenge on him today was disgraceful. “We’ve seen a lot of challenges where there’s question marks over them – but that there today was one of the worst I’ve seen since I’ve been up here. “There’s no intent to play the ball there. That was a really dangerous challenge – and only someone of that toughness and robustness could get up and play on. “Scott’s aggressive of course, but he’s fair and he’s honest. “He’s a guy that plays with an authority and an aggression. “We want to have eleven players on the pitch but it’s always controlled. “There’s one or two maybe trying to make a name for themselves by obviously trying to put those sort of tackles in. “But Scott’s unique – he’s absolutely brilliant for us. “He eventually got up and got on the with the game and controlled it.” Rodgers had plenty of reasons to be delighted about the comfortable victory which now leaves Celtic 12-points clear at the top – aided by second-placed Rangers drawing at Motherwell – and very close to wrapping up a seventh straight title. Stuart Armstrong excelled in his first Celts start for three months while Leigh Griffiths returned to action from the bench after a two month lay-off. Rodgers said: “It’s a pleasing victory. When you come back from an international break you’re always looking to get some fluency as quick as you can. “The pitch really helped, it was in good condition so well done to the ground staff for getting it to that level which allows us to play the game much quicker. “We talked before the game about having intent and intensity and we started strongly. “We scored one in the first half but could have had a few more. “Then of course they went down to 10 men with a really bad challenge. “Stuart was very good. He’s been building his way back into contention. He showed his energy and all his qualities. “It was a great goal from him but he worked very hard and played the position really well. “He tired a little bit in the last 20 minutes but we wanted to put him through 90 to push him with his game time. “We’re going into a really exciting part of the season where it’s about your mental fitness. “We got our three points today, and played well which is important.” A stunning 58,000-plus crowd watched and Rodgers is convinced they witnessed a Celtic team producing a level of football on a par with their very best from last season’s Invincibles campaign. Celtic are now just potentially nine games from a double Treble, with a Scottish Cup semi-final to come against Rangers on April 15. They play Dundee at Parkhead on Wednesday night, then Hamilton away on April 8 followed by the showdown with Rangers. Then it’s the five league post-split matches, with a possible Scottish Cup final on May 19. Rodgers said: “The crowd for top v bottom was virtually a full house. “I thought we were back today to what we were last year. Lots of threats on goal, speed and penetration. “Very importantly we had a hunger to get the ball back and that got us our second goal.” Rodgers took off Dedryck Boyata at half time but insisted he wasn’t injured, that it was tactical. He added: “Hendry came in and was very good. Scott Bain came in and had his first game at Celtic Park as well.” Loan keeper Bain, though, can’t face parent club Dundee with Dorus de Vries returning. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2441939/brendan-rodgers-celtic-scott-brown-andrew-davies-disgrace-challenge/

BBC sportsound doing a really in-depth analysis of cheating in sport... Detailed, thorough, incisive consideration of "just how much cheating goes on?". Australia cricket thing... "watershed moment, very sad" "dark day".... I imagine that they will discuss the guilty verdict on Rangers FC from Nimmo-Smith, 11 seasons, 500 games in Scottish league and cup competitions, European football, international matches, 50 plus players.... Any minute now?

Fair play to Stewart and Thompson on sportscene, they didn't hold back about that assault on Brown. Both of them saying that surely the compliance officer has to get involved and increase the standard ban.

Interesting that they were clear that the Motherwell penalty was correct, yet we had to endure so many pundits criticising the Forrest penalty there earlier in the season when there was much more contact in a similar challenge from behind.

Matthew Lindsay at his hunbelievable best in today's Herald.
His report on Celtic's game v Ross County actually starts off with 4 paragraphs on "Rangers" including their January "signings" which he describes as
".targeting players with a proven track record at the top level in British football as well as talented youngsters with enormous potential"

WTF? It's true
Pish The extensive recruitment drive that Rangers embarked on back in January was rightly seen as being hugely significant in their protracted recovery from years of off-field turmoil.
Few suggested that bringing in Jason Cummings, Sean Goss, Russell Martin and Jamie Murphy on loan, recalling Joe Dodoo, Andy Halliday and Michael O’Halloran and signing Greg Docherty and Declan John would enable them to vie with Celtic for the Scottish title this season.
Still, targeting players with a proven track record at the top level in British football as well as talented youngsters with enormous potential was certainly a vast improvement on much of the transfer activity which had preceded it and improved them greatly.
That the Ibrox club still lag a considerable distance behind their Parkhead rivals was, though, obvious in a Glasgow derby match they lost despite having one more man on the park than their opponents for much of the second-half last month.
The vastly-superior resources that Brendan Rodgers has to his counterpart Graeme Murty was underlined further on Saturday as his side moved 12 points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership with seven games remaining with a 3-0 win over bottom-placed Ross County at home.
It wasn’t just that Stuart Armstrong started for the first time in three months, Jack Hendry came on for Dedryck Boyata at half-time in a tactical change or that long-term absentees Leigh Griffiths and Patrick Roberts got some game time which showed the abundance of talent that Celtic have.
No, it was the players who weren’t even involved. Dorus de Vries, Odsonne Edouard, Charly Musonda and Olivier Ntcham remained in the dugout for the duration of the 90 minutes. There was no place in the squad for Nir Bitton, Marvin Compper, Craig Gordon, Jonny Hayes, Eboue Kouassi or Jozo Simunovic.
Rodgers has better players on the bench, on the treatment table and in the stands than Murty has on the field.
Callum McGregor, who slotted in at left back in the absence of Tierney and performed with his usual aplomb, feels the impact the injuries Celtic have had this season has been underestimated by those who have been critical of their performances.
“The side looked fresh on Saturday,” he said. “With a lot of good attacking players in the team, there are threats from all over the pitch.
"The strength in depth of the squad is excellent. That was probably a great strength for us last season. We had everybody fit pretty much every week. There was competition for places. Boys were coming into the team and doing really well.
“It was great to have Stu, Griff and Paddy back again. We had a few injuries, especially over that Christmas period. We have been missing a few players, but we are still winning games and doing well. It’s credit to the boys and the squad that we’ve got.
“You’ve got really top players not playing, either on the bench or in the stand. So it keeps you fresh and keeps you hungry to be in the team. So if you’ve got to go and play left-back then you do that. I’m just delighted to be in the team. Being part of this team is excellent. There is always a real feelgood factor about the place. Hopefully we can kick on towards the end of the season.”
Armstrong, who has been out since undergoing a hernia operation in January, was involved in most of this side’s best attacking moves. He scored the second goal early in the second-half in between Moussa Dembele opening the scoring from the penalty spot and Tom Rogic wrapping up the three points. He was a worthy winner of the Man of the Match award.
Celtic will secure their seventh consecutive title in the coming weeks – possibly even on Sunday if they win both of their games this week and other results go their way – and will be confident of beating their city adversaries in the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden in a fortnight.
County, who had their captain Andrew Davies red carded six minutes before half-time for a shocking foul on Scott Brown, will be undeterred by this defeat. Their match against Partick Thistle, who remain just three points ahead of them after losing away to Hibernian on Saturday, in Dingwall tomorrow is of far greater importance.
“It was a free shot for us,” said Scott Fox, who replaced Aaron McCarey in goals in the first-half. “It was more about not taking a doing and looking ahead to Tuesday.
"There is a lot at stake for us. although it's football, it does affect livelihoods. I've experienced it before and you just need to do your best. Even if you make mistakes, if you are out there giving 100 per cent that's all people can ask for.
“We will keep fighting for every ball until it's impossible. It is nerve-wracking. Everything is cranked up a bit. But we have good boys in the squad, we will stick together and try to grind it out.
"The mental side could be the most important. There will be nerves and you have to make the right decisions. That will come down to experience and belief in yourself but we are more than confident we can get out of this mess.”

The second paragraph in that article is complete bollocks. All we heard from all corners of the media in the week leading up to the game at Ibrox was talk of a title challenge.
