Which is it, Warbs?
Are we regressing or are we rampant?

From BBC gossip site:
Mark Warburton has urged the Rangers board to give Graeme Murty the time and money necessary to bridge the gap with rampant Celtic. (Scottish Daily Mail) ðh

Former Rangers manager Mark Warburton claims Celtic are going backwards, saying Brendan Rodgers' champions-elect have regressed after last year's invincible treble. (Scottish Sun)ðh

Not sure when the awards are decided but I can’t see Clarke getting any. He’s done well to get Killie up there and has made them hard to beat but they are punching well above their weight and I think come the split it will show.

They will revert back to the normal Killie next season, with or without Clarke at the helm. He only ever does well in his first season anyway.
I beg to differ, having seen every game we've played since he took over.

Punching above our weight is not how I'd describe some of our wins.

We could have and should have won by more than 1 on Saturday and that's been the story in a lot of our games.

Folk say we sit in and hit teams on the break but if that was the case then why did even Celtic only have one shot on target against us last month?

We are sound defensively but I wouldn't say overly. Guys like Jones, Brophy, Kiltie, Erwin etc are not much use at the back!

We play at a high intensity but there's plenty of football being played.
You mentioned earlier about how Clarke had you a whisker away from a chance at the Scottish cup final. You never mentioned how lucky you were at the first round of entry to get past Ross County with a dodgy penalty that even Clarke himself admitted to. Or the County chance at the end that McDonald may have clawed back from over the line. Fine margins.

Apart from a hammering dished out to Partick it’s mostly been very close winning margins and a fair few draws. I’m not denying that Stevie Clarke has done well but it won’t last into next season and im yet to be convinced they can keep it going this season.
Aside from Celtic in MON's first season, Killie are the most improved team in such a short space of time that I've ever seen in the SPFL. Absolute no hopers with relegation looking certain just a few months ago and now they look the hardest team to beat in the league. If it wasnt for the fact they're running out of games now, I'd have fancied them for third, possibly second.

Whether Clarke carries that into next season remains to be seen.

I'm sure it was Graham Spiers that got stuck into The Record (and in particular) for their need to run a daily Amoruso story.
Might not be a popular opinion on here but I like Spiers.

He takes his son to RP for every home game. He was loving it when we beat the huns at Christmas. He just sits with normal punters and pays his way in.

Wee boy sits there in his Killie shirt. He lives in a farmhouse just outside Dunlop so it's his closest team.

I'm pretty confident if he does leave (which won't be next season) that it won't be for shampooe like that.

i quite like Spiers as well. Think a fair few Celtic fans don't mind him as he's the only journalist to call the Hun support out for what they are , and say it as it is .. ie: Celtic and them are not 2 sides of the same coin

That's as good as it would get imo, look where Lennon went after Celtic. Any side with a realistic shout of promotion would be a good job for Clarke. Not that I'm in any hurry to see him go, it's great for the league to have a manager of that standard at Killie.

I reckon Clarke will bide his time until the Celtic job comes up, unless a half decent EPL team comes in for him. My son says he had an interview on talksport when he said the Celtic job was his dream job - I've no evidence of this and no way of proving it, so might be absolute nonsense.

Do you think he'll stay for another year? I'd completely welcome that as any improvement in the league is a positive.

However, I don't think he'd be able to maintain this standard and he probably knows that, for that reason I reckon a top 15 Championship club will beckon...

He did but since then he's said a few times in the press that Killie was the only job he'd take in Scotland, if Celtic came calling I'd say he'd change his tune. That's 3 years away though and he won't be at Killie for that amount of time.

When did he start attending Killie games, was it when his 1st team died?

I quite like him too, seems honest enough and I don’t think he gets dragged into any of the level5 crap.

He's signed a 2.5 year deal and has been pretty heavily involved in the restructuring of the club (training ground plans etc) and from what I hear has guys on pre contacts for next season so I'm hopefully he'll see out until next season at least.

He said when he signed it was a 3 year project. I think ultimately he'll end up at Celtic after Rodgers leaves.

All ifs and buts, but that's my gut feel.

His oldest son wanted to go as a few of his class mates are Killie fans so GS took him as it's his local side.

I was sure I'd seen pictures of him at Celtic Park with his son bedecked in green and white? Is his son not a Tim? I thought he'd got dog's abuse for it from the huns.

Nah I think good portion of Celtic fans like Spiers..one or two slip ups but a journalist with good substance and not afraid to speak his mind.

I like him ..at least he declares himself that he was/is a Rangers fan(most of them are sh!te scared to do so) but moved away from them and as you point out supports Killie as his local team along side his young boy- good on him.

Comes across well although dont see/hear him to much now for some reason. Think the Hun Mafia Media have blackballed him as he seems to have disapeared when he was a good listen majority of time.

Spiers one of the better journos though does have the best dressed man in Albania about it when you look at the competition.
Regularly called the Huns out about their song book when at the Herald. The Mint tried to get him bagged over it IIRC.
