Ironically ,Kit-Kat Man Dickson tweeting about supporter trying to kick M'Bappe seemingly forgetting his supporters tried to stomp a policeman to death in Manchester ! https://twitter.com/mrandrewdickson/status/922545754220257282

Great gesture by Dortmund fans too. what did they do?
Some of them let Monaco fans crash in their houses when their game get put back a day after their bus was bombed. ah yeah. I remember that, I mid interpreted your post and read it as if BVB fans had done something in recognition of us winning the award last night.
my bad.

I've read and heard about ten different versions of Jock's "nothing without fans" quote, and if posters were to attempt to post it verbatim without checking I'd bet more than half of you would get it wrong. To vilify Bankier for it is petty imo.
No its not. He is the Chairman of our club FFS. It is his duty to represent us at these things so he can at least get it right. The quote is pretty simple and etched on many DVD's, books and media articles/commentators over many years. He brought Jock up so at least have the courtesy to get it right. Couple that with "Born east of Scotland" it is a major red neck & embarrassment. It only solidifies how out of touch they are with the ordinary Celtic fan.
What is the actual quote? Without looking. Im not telling you.

Who is this guy anyway? He was a media guy for Rangers , same name as Dickson on SFA - need to look up his Kit-Kat/Same Club quote !
Spoiler: click to toggle Plain and simple, it is the same club.
I recently posted a response on an internet forum which was debating the situation regarding the new company and whether it was a new club or not to provide clarification.
Using an analogy I sadly can’t claim as my own, I said a Kit Kat was still a Kit Kat when Rowntree’s was bought over by Nestle and production of the chocolate bar continued.
It used the same ingredients and tasted exactly the same, thus nobody talked of it as a new product. In effect, the same thought process applies to the Rangers case.
I still enjoy Kit Kats the way I did when I first tasted one as a child and they were made by Rowntree’s. Meanwhile from Palestine

Celtic FC were the only professional football club to respond to calls for written submissions on the bill.
Celtic have say on hate chants: Club claim new laws and police actions bad for football
Spoiler: click to toggle Stewart Paterson @PatersonHT The controversial Offensive Behaviour at Football Act could have been “counterproductive”, discriminates against fans and should be scrapped according to Celtic Football Club. MSPs at Holyrood are taking evidence today on the bill by Labour MSP James Kelly to scrap the act. Celtic FC were the only professional football club to respond to calls for written submissions on the bill. In the submission the club states the relationship between fans and police has suffered since the act was introduced. It also said that fans have sensed a change in behaviour at away matches. The club stated: “There is also a perception among supporters that certain songs and chants are more prevalent now among a section of the support (particularly at away matches) than before the legislation came into force. To this extent, it may be considered that the legislation was counterproductive.” Celtic said the law “criminalises individuals by virtue of being football supporters”. The club said that the law should not treat conduct differently just because it happens to be at a football match. It stated: “Individuals should not be subjected to a different standard merely by reason of being a football supporter one day, and an ‘ordinary citizen’ the next.” The club said its supporter liaison officer has informed it of a deterioration in the relationship with police and some Celtic fans. It said concerns raised included excessive police numbers and surveillance, and more searches of supporters’ buses. Celtic has told MSPs its fans believe Celtic supporters were being targeted by police and that the new legislation was being used for Celtic fans for behaviour not previously considered unlawful and that existing breach of the peace charges were being used for fans of other clubs. The club said there are concerns it was driving fans away from football. The submission stated: “In some cases, supporters indicted they were no longer willing to attend matches as a result of their concerns around and enforcement of the legislation by Police Scotland.” Celtic concluded: “Given the potential for discrimination against football supporters and the confusion in applying and enforcing the section 1 offence, the club believes that sections 1 to 5 of the act should be repealed.” http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/15614958.Celtic_have_say_on_hate_chants__Club_claim_new_laws_and_police_actions_bad_for_football/

A feckin' disgrace that we are the only respondent to something as controversial as this bill. Well done Celtic for at least trying.

Misquoting Jock Stein & describing him as 'An East of Scotland man' should be bankier's last words as Celtic chairman.
Bankier GTF No wonder Eto'o was laughing when he came out with that one.

Was a great tifo - although I think there has been a couple of better ones
can imagine the rage up the road and even had some EPL fans down here come up and say well done.
Most important thing is though
have Celtic got any special merchandising in the club shop to commemorate this great moment yet

CGAF what Bankier knows about our history, that's not his job. On the other hand, he shouldn't be in the position to speak about stuff he (or whoever wrote the words) doesn't know about. Whatever, it's hardly a sackable offence FFS. Aye that seems a bit harsh.
What he should have been hounded out for was when he called Celtic fans racist for giving that Tory bastard Livingston abuse for being a Tory bastard.
Clueless.

It pisses me off the way some folk always have to find a negative in anything good. I share your pain. Especially as posters on here are always so appreciative and respectful of the achievements of other teams.
Congrats to Celtic on the award. The power to vote on the internet is truly a wonderful gift. It's good to see that people made full use of it.
The 50th anniversary tifo was impressive. I'm convinced that there is no truth whatsoever in the mischievous, malevolent and scurrilous notion that it was possibly inspired, or even influenced in the slightest, by similar displays elsewhere in Europe earlier in the year.
In the same vein, the directors will have been extremely proud and honoured to accept the award and would have made full use of the opportunities it presented to spend time in London exploring that city's myriad attractions.
So it's entirely inconceivable that they, or anyone on here, will feel the slightest twinge of envy towards a certain English club who earned over £70 million (more than Real Madrid) during last season's run in the Champions League.
