The kid has taken enough abuse from other Celtic fans - Get a effing grip of yourself.
It really shouldn't be such a surprise when bangers like yer man before can concoct guff about drug use when, at the other end of the scale, you have an apologist like OR effectively playing down what happened by insinuating this was the actions of an daft wee boy, and so not something Celtic supporters should really be bothered about. John Hatton is a man, a 21 year old adult, he's no "kid". And he's a sh itebag for hiding behind the excuse of being pished.

He can be all the arseholes he chooses to be in his on his own dime, that's his problem, but that behaviour supporting Celtic shames us as a support. If he's universally called out - without resorting to making up guff about drugs on one hand, or attempting to play down his actions on the other- then maybe the next arsehole whose tempted to run on the pitch and assault a visiting player might just think it's not worth it.
Shames us? Dear God.
Why did the majority of the crowd act so angrily? If not shamed, they were sure upset at his actions.

He's 21 FFS. Majority of 21 year olds could drink for 16 hours and do that.
Just reading that he is 21, he is 3 years older than Mbappe. Something about that is just mad.
It can all be explained by genetics

You think his actions reflect well on the Celtic support?
Honestly man, who gives a tiny rat’s ass?

he's an idiot, he was drunk, he did something stupid, got caught and he got punished, end of - I've been there, maybe not on the same scale, but still, if there was a criminal charge for being a drunken idiot, I would be serving a life sentence, along with a lot of others on here.

I read that he currently does voluntary work in NI, so he can't be all bad and, possibly, he'll be able to continue doing so to cover his 120 hours community service.

He didn't shame me, I was annoyed and probably shouted abuse at him, but he never shamed me

Doesn't shame me. He's a effing wee arsehole responsible for his own actions.

The bulk of the Celtic support booed him mercilessly.
I never asked if it shamed you, didn't shame me either.

I asked if it reflected well on the Celtic support. I don't think it did.

I have no idea why anyone gives two shampoos about this.

An interesting thing to consider: about 7 or 8 years back a Celtic supporter was assaulted at Celtic Park by a group of wee neds because he was a visible ethnic minority. This was in front of his kids and a blade was used. There's been a million times more invective and ranting about a daft wee dick who ran on the pitch than there was about a dad stabbed by fellow fans. I suppose because it didn't make a big splash in the press and so didn't "shame us as a support".

I wonder if people's opinions will change when the Uefa punishment is doled out ?

Oh and by the way, I didn't say it shamed us, I actually said the exact opposite.

Christ.

Glad you just ignored the substance of the argument and that seemingly what you think is important is the UEFA punishment.

I think that was Karagandy. If it's the same incident I think it is, it happened the next section over from me.

Yes, they were upset Mr. Bond, and I wonder why? I think shame is probably the wrong word. People were angry 1) because the game was interrupted, and 2) because the club would be charged and punished. I would also imagine a fair few people felt it reflected badly on the club that a visiting player was subjected to an attack (of sorts) by one of our support. That said, a few weeks later, the fuss has died and few people give a monkeys now, although the subject may raise its head again when the penalty is announced.

What he's been convicted of - and admitted - was assault of a player.
For a visiting player to be assaulted at a ground with the history and fame of Parkhead will be troubling to a number who have affection for Celtic and may well influence the punishment coming our way

It doesn't reflect well on the boy who done it and he has been punished accordingly. I hardly think football fans the world over are sitting on their laptops and phones castigating us or the club as a result.

As for UEFA, you couldn't mark their collective necks with a blowtorch.

It's quite specifically another thing that happened at Celtic Park and was done by Celtic supporters. But it never got us in the papers or in trouble by UEFA so all the respectability CSC dgaf.
