So blame the bevvy? If that were the case hundreds would have ran on to the park.
Well aye and naw.

The bevvy - and being a dick - is why he ran on the park. It's not an excuse, but it's part of the reason.

Well the booze in industrial amounts doesn't help if we are being honest, that's just a fact of life. Any solicitor will tell you the emotional scenes they face in cop stations and court rooms at the fall out from this. It happens in every town and city in these islands every weekend. I am not condoning what the guy did, he will have to take his punishment and sadly so will we. I would also ask questions of the stewards and police, how did he get past them when he was tanked up? :ponder:

Hypothetical...

What happens if there is a partial closure and you're a season ticket holder in the section closed? A bit unfair that you miss the game whereas folk who've got tickets as a favour from Season Ticket holders get to go...

The PSG charge for broken seats is pathetic and sums up UEFA  .
Why is it pathetic? Should they be allowed to break seats?

It's wrong, and I know it is wrong, but once, just once, i wish a player would rattle a carrot that runs on the park.
Only one I can think of was Brian Clough hooking a few over exuberant Forest fans who had ran on the City Ground back in the '80s. People just laughed about it in them days

The older guy shouldn't have done what he done though. Just giving the guy an earful of abuse was sufficient.

Aye, because that's what he's saying. :ffs:

The broken seats have obviously came from their fans celebrating/jumping up and down all night.

I dare say a few seats would be broke in the PSG away end if we were 5-0 up, not deliberately of course.

I don't know why he'd be banned from the shops but he will be banned from Celtic Park. ;)

What goes through these idiots heads? He will rightly be handed a lifetime ban now. Mental
I often wonder how they enforce these lifetime bans, or any stadium ban for that matter. Do the cops, or stewards have photos of every banned fan, and they are expected to spot them among the legions of fans entering a stadium? I can visualise the radio conversation.

PC001 to Gate Control: I've just spotted someone who looks like XXXX who has been banned for life. He is 10 years older now and has grown a beard, but I'm sure it's him.

Gate Control: There's 12 people approaching with beards. Which one is it?

PC001: The one with the green and white scarf.

Gate Control: You must be joking

Elaborate ?
I may be wrong but there certainly didn't seem to be any malice or destructive intent at play from their fans.

They were a vibrant mob and as a result I'm guessing some seats have been casualties to this. It's standard and part of parcel to any vibrant style of support. Perhaps its time club's and authorities recognised this, appreciated the style and moved with the times.
And how would you discern the difference between "vibrant support" and out and out vandalism? I may be old fashioned, but IMO if you are so vibrant that you wreck property you don't own, you should pay for it.

should just foot the bill for the seats and leave it at that.
Yup.

A loan of Thiago Silva for the rest of the tournament will suffice.

We're rightly criticising the young(ish) bam who ran on the park, but a 61 year old guy punching him? carrot should know better.
Understandable reaction to be fair.

He was fined £400 for it
Worth every penny. Wee guy should have got a shoeing. Weeping like a wee bitch. Boo effing hoo.
