its not. if anything the guy in the concourse was the one away from the reality and emotion of the situation rather than those at the touchline giving the boy deserved pelters
The guy's apologised for getting the old guy into trouble, so no point getting vexed on his behalf.

He's also been banned from every ground in Britain, whereas the old guy hasn't been banned from any. Invading a pitch and attempting to boot an opposition player in front of TV cameras is way more stupid than someone trying to hit someone who did so. It's not even debatable.
I dont know, trying to hit someone who is already in police custody and surrounded by polis is a fairly stupid thing to do imo.

It nearly was in the 1994 New Years Day 2 - 4 game. Sevco 3 up inside 20 odd minutes, crowd going crackers, me full of Powers and sitting right at the front in the old jungle when it was seated. Ready to jump on the pitch when Mikhailichenko scored again then my da, and a big cop, grabbed and knocked sense into me. It looks like that wee lad was full of drink and the incident will haunt him for the rest of his life as well as cost us. :comp:

I'm sure I read earlier that it will be punished as a stand alone incident. Arsenal had a 6000 euro fine for similar.

It's wrong, and I know it is wrong, but once, just once, i wish a player would rattle a carrot that runs on the park.

The closure of a stand must be a possibility but not a likely one, more likely to be a large fine.
Evidently our hot shot media are on the case and have already asked, new begged that our previous form be brought in to consideration!
Only for the Tims of UEFA to tell them not to be so stupid, Peter won't allow it!
How's that Scottish inquiry in to the zombie that got on the park at the Bigotdome going by the way?
The hurt is strong with many

The fella who ran on the park is an absolute dick. He's also a just a young fella who was full of the drink and had a moment of madness. Everyone who likes a drink has done something similarly stupid at some point in their life, although probably not something similarly serious.

I hope we gets a hefty fine and banned for 5 or 10 years or something. That, plus aw the shampooe he's gonna get in the papers and on social media is punishment enough. If he ends up getting jailed and/or banned for life it's a bit much I'd say.

The guy who punched him is a effing dick anol. 60 year old running about punching a guy who has already been grabbed by the police. eff me.

The fella is a total melter for doing what he did and he will reap this for a long time. I know guys who were absolute headers going over to games in the 80's and 90's and who are now the most respectable citizens going; all day guzzling the sauce is always going to result in stupid incidents like this. Unfortunately UEFA is in unforgiving mood currently and the Laptop Loyal are sitting and salivating at every negative angle.

I'm sure I read earlier that it will be punished as a stand alone incident. Arsenal had a 6000 euro fine for similar.
I made a post on that and I just want to be clear on it.

I heard news on Radio Scotland who said Chris McLaughlin had been talking to someone at UEFA about it. Who that person was and what level of authority they have to speak on this incident, our past track record and how UEFA will view it, I have absolutely no idea. It was not explained by McLaughlin who that person was. Remember they have many employees covering all angles of football and there are different levels of experience, responsibility and authority.

It then went on to say that a coding to this UEFA person that the incident would not be clouded or affected by our past disciplinary record. It would be viewed independently. That sounds fantastic, but this is only what McLaughlin is saying based on some person he claims to have spoken to.

If it's true, then that would be quite remarkable news, however, I would urge caution. Over the years I gave formed the view that UEFA have taken past incidents into account and that where we are concerned, I have a real fear that the book will be thrown at us.

So, we should not get our hopes up. My post was just what I heard and this post updates it slightly with my view.

As stated, if it's independent, Arsenal were fined £6000 or Euros for a similar incident that last time they played Bayern.
