Speaking as a father of a son with asthma, the smoke bombs shouldn’t be encouraged in any way.
my son has asthma, didn't seem to bother him too much - genuine question, does it really affect people with asthma or is it just presumed it does?
Smoke bombs look good for me from a safe distance! To be honest the hardcore won’t stop whether they would have an effect on people with asthma or not and to be honest it’s nit as bad as the hardcore in my day throwing bottles and cans.

I don't think all of us react the same way to everything.
For example tobacco smoke affects me the worst by far. I've been around plenty flares at games and they don't bother me overmuch, but it's probably a good idea to take the word of asthmatics who say they are affected
I've just stated my son isn't affected, question was, are asthmatics genuinely affected or is it just presumed they will be affected? Genuine question.

I suffer from various allergies, certain perfumes start me sneezing / eyes watering, but the smoke bombs / flares don't affect me - should I be asking people not to wear perfume (I had to move seats on Sunday at CP as girl next to me had on a perfume that affected me -it probably wasn't that strong, but it really bothered me)
Yeah, that was some clumsy wording from me. Apologies.

I genuinely dont't know the answer to your question. Like your son, I appear to cope with them fine and I have pretty certainly been in far more smoke bomb-intense environments at the football than most people who go to watch Celtic (just look up some atmosphere clips from Stockholm derbys on Youtube...).

I should probably just have said that I cope with them fine, sorry again to have responded unnecessarily

Im far from being an auld fart ( i think ...gulp)

Back the GB in most things but the smokebombs are a mile oot.

The smoke bombs are brilliant. The added colour really improves the atmosphere for me.

I get that I'm not old, nor disabled and the smoke doesn't bother me. Maybe there needs to be a better way to do it but I don't think it's something we need to get rid of. I'd prefer if the club actually allowed it in the stadium - maybe in special sections with the safety procedures in place like in the US.

How do you control smoke?

Personally, I think they are horrible things.

Don't think you do else you'd know it's a thurible.

Seriously the flares are not good news especially in a crowded environment.

Obviously you can't control smoke but Orlando City have designated areas for it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4286546/Orlando-City-open-stadium-safe-standing-flares.html?cmp.consent=true

I'm sure they have bins that the smoke bombs/flares get chucked into as well to stop them from continually burning.

http://stadiumdb.com/news/2016/12/pyrotechnics_brondby_a_step_from_creating_safe_flares

Heres another link shows Brondby working with fans trying to create a safer alternative although it doesnt quite look like they've got there yet

My best thurible story involves my father, who apparently tried to grab the huge one at Santiago de Compostela, for reasons that never quite made sense. He was given a strongly worded warning by security and my mother.

IMO effects people with asthma my daughter came home bouncing from final and Celtic park afterwards but only complaint was she said she was struggling to breathe other than that said it was best day of her life atmosphere was amazing
My son has athsma as does one of my friends who sits next to me . Neither of them have been affected by smoke bombs. And on several occasions, particularly at Hampden we’ve been right next to them . I think smoke bombs and flares add to the colour and the spectacle of the occasion and personally I hope they continue. If some people are against them then that’s fair enough as well . But name calling and physical violence against young lads only trying to help the atmosphere is bang out of order ( IMO).

I have asthma and it certainly affected me when they were let off at a friendly at Firhill where I was right in the thick of it. I had to cover my face with my scarf, I also had to use my reliever inhaler. I've asked many times on here about whether the GB think of people with respiratory conditions when they launch these smokebombs but have have yet to receive an answer. I can only assume from this that they do not think of people with these conditions and, for me, this is very selfish. I am a fan of their TIFO displays, I'm not a fan of anything that can put other supporters at risk.

Letting them off on the Celtic Way was just stupid given how congested it was. Had anything caught fire, the panic could have caused a crush.

Fair play to you, Roseanne.
After all that excitement of winning the Scottish Cup and the treble, you walked from Hampden to Celtic Park.
Then stood among thousands crushing together and survived being gassed with a smoke bomb from an alleged GB member and diesel fumes from that 40 year old open air bus.
And all that with a couple of puffs from a blue inhaler.
Your a super star.
