It's something that bugs me too. I have a ST and due to work can't always make games. But almost all my friends and family have ST too so I rarely have someone that can use it in my place - probably talking about missing around 6 games a season.

Personally, I don't see why there can't be a scheme where you can let the club know in advance that you can't attend and they sell a one off ticket for your seat. Extra income and it surely can't be that hard to roll out?
That is a great point and one made with an honourable intention,i have often thought of same, reckon its unworkable in practice but is a beautiful thought.

It’s not unworkable, we already use it for overseas (oversees  ) season tickets, and other clubs do it, it is possible

With the overseas ST you're buying it for a purpose though, it allows the foundation to bring people who otherwise can't afford it to go to CP. It's definitely workable though, United allow you to let a friend use your ST, as long as it's not a concession, and state that you're not to sell it/make money on it. Not sure how it works RE selling your space if you can't make it but at Spurs the buyer pays face value plus 7.50 for the ticket, they have a "market" where you can sell your seat online before games. They're definitely options Celtic need to look at

In theory Camp Nou is more or less sold out, the tickets in circulation are in fact tickets that ST holders "returned". ST holder informs the club that he won't use the ticket for a specific game, and the club (re)sells the ticket. ST holder gets 50% of the ticket sold minus expenses, if he informed the club more than 3 days before the kickoff he gets cash (in the bank account), if less, the amount earned is "discounted" from next year ST ticket price.

Biggest con ever is season tickets. The amount of empty seats at some games is beyond belief, but at least the club gets the money.I know Man United fans can sell their tickets if they can't make game and should be worth considering.

The worst thing about them is the way the club forces people to buy them.

there's no real demand for tickets- we do not have 52,000 fans willing to attend every game - we do have 52,000 willing to attend the big games, but in order to ensure they get to those games, they need to buy a ST.
I've always said CP is too big - we should have made it a 50,000 stadium as that's more than adequate for the majority of home games
Even if folk are only buying season tickets to ensure they can get to the European/huns games there’s till a demand for those tickets.

Could also be a way of raising money for the Foundation. As the club already have the money for the seat from the STH, they could charge less for the ticket to get bums on seats (say £20) and give a percentage of that to the Foundation.

Fills the stadium, wee bit extra income for the club and raises money all at the same time!

Wow.

So that's the home variation of the argument that people only buy away tickets "to keep up their records for the big games".

Strange how some struggle with the concept that others actually want to go and watch Celtic.

After the dust-up last year about season tickets being used by other folk, anyone have any thoughts on whether a couple of people from overseas who will be borrowing season cards for a game will have any issues getting in to CP? Asking for a friend ...

Cards are for main stand, full freight if that makes any difference.
