Not sure, but chucking fake eyeballs at a guy with a disability there can't really be put down to giving players stick.
Stick, abuse, whatever you want to call it. Where do you stop? Should we allow police officers to decide what's offensive? That's not really worked out too well. Would calling BFDJ a fat bastard get you the jail? Can we speculate on Beckham's wife's preferred sexual proclivities without getting the jail? Will calling a player baldy get you lifted? What about making monkey gestures at Scott Sinclair - you okay with that? The point about having a law - any law - is to set the boundaries of what is okay and what's not. The points you raise about baldness etc are well made.
My original point however was the we are told that repealing the Offensive behaviour act will mean anything can take place at a football ground without it. That is total bullshampoo. Breach of the peace has been covering these sort of things for years - perfectly well.

Not sure if this is the right thread, however, I'm pleased to see that two people have been charged in relation to the Dean Shields incident at Dunfermline on Jan 2. Also interesting to see that they've been charged under the (hopefully soon to be repealed) Offensive Behaviour etc Act. This is another case in which the common law charge of breach of the peace would have been more than adequate.
Slippery slope. Where do you draw the line at giving players stick? Mocking someone for having a disability would be a good start

Firing sweetie eyeballs onto a pitch to abuse someone with an eye disability wouldn't be up there with my top 5 leisure pursuits but it's below racism on my scale by a few notches, and I'm not sure you should be getting jailed for it.

As yet no one has been jailed for it and I think it unlikely that they would be. At least racism is off your radar.

I don't expect they'll get jailed, but they'll probably get fined or something. I'm not sure you should run the risk of going to jail for it nor have a criminal record for it. A stupid-as-eff-and-ignorant-arsehole record, and a slap from the decent fans like yourself around them, who would definitely step in and call them out for it (wouldn't you?), aye.

That early ITHOL made it feel like a really long second half.
I checked the time on the scoreboard when they started singing it last night

I sit right above you in row B of 412. Some feedback. Can you not get a better singer to start the songs off? For example, he sings in the wrong key at the beginning of Grace, and the group needs to go to a lower pitch after the 2nd line. Does the boy with the long hair and the megaphone really need to curse when exhorting the group to start singing? Drummer is good though.
With the greatest respect, it's posts like this why I rarely reply on here. Unreal isn't it!?

We were only ever doing 67 on 67 minutes for the anniversary, now that's passed we'll use it any point. If other fans want to continue with it on 67 and it takes off then we will join in like we would do so with any other song should it take off. Whatever we were singing on 67 last night quickly got canned with folk joining in with 67 once that began to take off from the upper section, so saying we point blank refused to join in or we're purposely singing over the top of it is a lot of pish. We've heard this pish for about 10 years and its never been the case. Apparently your man who started it last night stood giving us the finger, raging for about a minute straight after too...we're not the petty ones! The whole 67th minute light show/concert fad quickly lost its appeal - most who join in are more interested in shining their phone lights for a couple of minutes than actually singing along and contributing to the atmosphere. It was fantastic at times but most of the time it was halfhearted and that's when it begins to lose its appeal. I'm glad to see the back of it and I certainly don't think we're alone in our thinking either.

What happened in 116 when the stewards went rushing into the crowd in the 2nd half?
I couldn't see from where I was Was that over at the family section?
If so then someone on the Post Match thread said that a scummy hearts supporter got or tried to get in amongst our family section with scummy intentions.

I've a scale. Firing sweetie eyeballs onto a pitch to abuse someone with an eye disability wouldn't be up there with my top 5 leisure pursuits but it's below racism on my scale by a few notches, and I'm not sure you should be getting jailed for it. In my books discrimination is discrimination so why if it's directed at someone's disability that's not really a big deal, but against a race it is. To me it's the same argument that's used in Scotland where discrimination against someone's colour is 'big news', but against the Irish diaspora it's just 'banter' - the intent of the insult is just the same.
Discrimination typically is designed to denigrate the other person (admittedly the level of denigration behind each type can vary immensely). Dean Shiels and his family / friends have had to put up with discrimination of his disability since a small child, so to myself what these idiots did was despicable (your choice how you feel about it).
