Minutes silence before the game tomorrow for Remembrance Sunday, hopefully all can keep it schtoom for 60 seconds!
Hope I’m wrong, but no chance the silence will be impeccably observed. james mcclean wouldn't agree.
ftr i hope it goes without incident but i won't condemn anyone for showing discontent.
that's what happens when you force politics on fans.

Sack that. Man City fans boo it and we roar throughout it, its a no brainer which one creates a better atmosphere. Although the way some people are talking in this thread maybe we should create a rotten atmosphere so we don't feel patronised after the game when people compliment it
I've always felt that the playing of the CL anthem is official recognition of the level of football we're competing in, and the roar during it as a GIUY to the huns who won't be hearing that particular music for some time, if ever.
You may be in a minority of one thinking about the Huns.
Can't imagine that they even entered the thoughts of a single person at the game on Tuesday night.

would they keep that principle all the way to the final if they got there? boo the captain as he lifts that cup. that thing with uefa engraved on it?
and thinking about sevco during the theme?

why? rememberance day is the 11th, what possible justification can they have for holding the minutes silence on the 4th (a rhetorical question BTW)?
Don’t have a scooby, it’s obviously a decision taken by SJ alone, next week should be the only weekend it takes place! Just hope we don’t give anyone a much sought stick to beat us with I couldn't care less what other people think about our fans behaviour regards minute silence When I regularly went to games in the seventies and eighties we never had this tradition of annual remembrance silences at football matches You were lucky if there was one minutes silence a season

The huns are one of the furthest things from my mind when that CL music starts. The music gets a massive roar because CL participation is such a massive thing for us. On the "atmosphere" debate....the atmosphere has nearly always been great at our CL home games....it's just the way it is, the problem is that now we're getting praised for our atmosphere more often after a defeat that we were in the past and it just comes across as a bit patronising.... Spot on.

Spoiler: click to toggle Each year in November we get put under pressure by the Poppy Fascist’s to agree with their opinions about how to remember those who lost their lives in war. A lot of people believe as I do that it is a personal issue, and people should pay their respects as they see fit.
It’s not even all the people who lost their lives, just those who fall into the category they believe should be remembered. But in the last few years it’s getting worse, it seems that everyone who appears on live television is forced to wear a poppy.
The real hypocrites are those who have imported this into sport, and mostly football. Celtic have paid plenty of fines for what UEFA called political demonstrations by the display of some banners, and they were backed by the SFA/SPFL.
Tomorrow once again the trap has been set, this time the poacher is St Johnstone. They have informed Celtic that a Minutes Silence will be held tomorrow before our match. They never indicated during the pre-match meeting that was the case, they waited until late this afternoon to contact Celtic.
With all the roadworks going on tomorrow around Perth there will obviously be supporters arriving late, some will be caught out not knowing about the silence, and no doubt the microphones will be there to catch any noise.
I’m not going to ramble on about the merits of Poppies or minutes silences. I will remain outside until it’s over with, and I would suggest that anyone who doesn’t agree with the minutes silence does likewise. If supporters are happy with the silence then by all means take part.
It looks like this situation in November is never going to change. If they don’t want to leave the politics at home, maybe the supporters will remain at home instead. I will be seriously considering whether I return to St Johnstone for any more games.
