Why the eff did so many people applaud Robben off the park?

eff him.
I was thinking that. But the he jogged off the pitch instead of that laborious walk, so then I joined in.

Fair effs.

Aye. Not a fan of that at all but can at least see where it comes from with Iniesta or those of similar ilk. Robben's a complete knob and always has been.
Exactly. He didnt even play well. Tierney had his number.

Bizarre behaviour from attention seekers who want to put a quote on a photo of him about how good Celtic fans are. winks.

For the same reason a lot of people applauded their whole team at the end - appreciation of a sporting side who came and helped make it a thoroughly entertaining night.
It was a sub to waste time when we needed a goal.

Aye. Stand and give the tosser a round of applause.
Shock horror!!! Manager makes substitution to waste time when opposition want goal.

Report this to UEFA!!

Tosser he might be, but he is a world class player and that has never been in doubt. No diving or histrionics from him tonight. Unlike that carrot Neymar.
Only because he couldn't get the ball off Tierney.

Applauding Robben off the pitch FFS :ffs:

There is a whole range of reactions available between reporting him to the UEFA and applauding the player off the park, believe it or not.

No we never, sadly. The banner was an absolute shambles, embarrassing for us and definitely not acceptable. We're absolutely gutted and angry with it.

There's a post above about a 'fans tifo' being better than banners - I disagree. Almost anyone can arrange a choreod layout for fans to raise above their heads. The banners take weeks, sometimes months, of hard work - working on them most nights of the week for 4 hours at least or longer at weekends. It's a real hard slog at times, using a lot of materials which cost a lot of money. Once you appreciate that aspect you respect them a lot more and you understand why we'd be so gutted when they go wrong.

The atmosphere was fantastic though so credit to everyone in the stadium - Bayern support are usually pretty good and we made them look poor.

most likely not going to be at Bayern next season

Brendan have talked him up in the press

guess fans just trying to add to that, so he will join in the summer instead of going to the States/China/Middle East

Was it in recognition of his efforts in getting out of KT's pocket to make his way to the dugout ?

Each to their own and all that but I was amazed at the reception he got.

That was me and I certainly wasn’t denigrating banners - they can be awesome, eg FCK v Brøndby cannon and the four men of apocalypse v the huns. I just think more creativity, ingenuity, effort, organisation and planning goes into creating a whole stadium tifo.

Who funds the tifos? If you haven’t already, have you thought about seeking funding from, say, the Arts Council or Awards for All? There are other sources but those would be my starting point (and I’d be happy help raise funding like this).

Seemingly some boys never passed it down correctly and when it did people were pulling different directions.

Im sure MacBhoy will clarify.

Loved the guy on the other platform who, seeing eejit's puffa jacket, kept calling him"bubblewrap"

I prefer banners because a lot more goes into them.

And I really don't think anyone beyond the Celtic support would ever fund the Green Brigade  nor would we ever want them to!

Top corner got tangled, it then ended up lop-sided/off angle. Basic stuff we got badly wrong.
