Sign him. If all the board care about is re-sale value, we’d at least double our money.

I think he’s going to get even better with regular game time. The guys an absolute unit with a great touch and a strikers instinct.

If we don’t sign him this summer, we would never be able to afford a striker like him.

Spot on. We have to sign this guy.

£4m apparently, source is up there with an old etims rumour mill mind. No brainer at that.

Hopefully we’re looking at a few more French talents
Gotta agree with this, yeah he is raw, but i see a player there, I also see a Calmac situ wher BR makes him a player we could never afford.
You'd need to be blind as a bat not to see a player there.

Every time he's on the ball I marvel at the power with which he runs at defenders -- he's quick enough to get around defenders but I think he's equally capable of going through opponents as well.

Sign him up. He's so young I think there will be some up and downs in the coming years but I have no doubt Brendan could make a star out of him.

GOAL-DEN boy Odsonne Edouard destroyed Rangers again to spark a massive title party and told Celtic: My heart is with you.

The French loan ace followed up his winner at Ibrox last month with a first-half double to help the rampant Hoops to a 3-0 half-time lead.

It was no surprise the 20-year-old — who arrived last summer on a season-long deal from Paris St Germain — was announced as the man of the match to huge roars from more than 50,000 Celtic supporters.

And now they are desperate for boss Brendan Rodgers to wrap up a permanent transfer — with Celtic having long since agreed a price with PSG chiefs in the event of them wanting to keep the lethal frontman.

Edouard — now 11 goals in 28 games — started the game after compatriot Moussa Dembele failed to shrug off an injury which had also kept him out of last week’s defeat to Hibs at Easter Road.

There was big pressure on him to deliver, especially with Leigh Griffiths being kept on the bench.

But how he rose to the occasion — touching home a Kieran Tierney bye-line cutback from close-range and then for 2-0 breaking up the park, tormenting backtracking Rangers defenders before drilling a right foot shot into the far corner from inside the box.

Rodgers indicated the seven-in-a-row champions are now poised to activate their option on Edouard amid talk that it would cost the Hoops a minimum record £7million fee.

And asked about his future, the pacey frontman said: “I love this club, I really love this club. If the decision was up to me I’d like to stay.

“But I can only do so much. What’s most important is that we’ve won the title today.

“The season’s not over yet, though, because we still have the Scottish Cup. Hopefully after that there will be time for discussing options.”

Edouard, Dembele and Olivier Ntcham have really flown the flag for France this season.

And the young Celts hitman revealed he’d been inspired to shatter Graeme Murty’s lame side with a pre-match pep talk from Dembele.

Edouard said: “Me and Moussa speak a lot. Every match we usually talk to each other before the match, whoever is playing.

“Moussa had a message of encouragement for me before the game. But we usually talk regularly anyway.”

Edouard — speaking through an interpreter — admitted it had been by far the best day of his football life.

He added: “I’m going to remember this all my life because it’s my first title. Obviously I’m very happy for the team and for myself.

“To be able to win the title against Rangers in front of our fans, it was a pleasure for everyone.”

Edouard had 30 minutes of the second half to clinch a hat-trick and emulate Dembele, who achieved it in last season’s opening Old Firm derby which Celtic won 5-1.

He was replaced in the 75th minute by Griffiths and wasn’t too unhappy at not matching his friend’s achievement.

He added: “What Moussa did last season was extraordinary.

“I’m happy to be on the score-sheet and we’ve won the game — that’s what’s important.”

Well if the fee is agreed and he wants to stay, this should be tied up with the minimum of fuss so can move onto the next bit of business.

Showed his inexperience a couple of times but, in the main, was excellent. Had their defence on toast.

A month or two ago I would have laughed at the thought of spending around £7m on him.(If indeed this figure was correct). I'm not laughing now! If we can sign him we should.

Agreed. He’s shown great signs in recent months but yesterday was the acid test for him, playing the lone striker role in a huge game with no Dembele to help him. He was absolutely immense. Definitely number two striker at the club now behind Dembele, with every chance of being his replacement.

I didn't think he could play the lone striker role before yesterday. I was 100% wrong. Sign him.
