We have wasted a fortune on hopeless strikers in the past 10 years. Odsonne is far from the complete player but has all the attributes to become a top class striker. Great attitude, ability, pace and strength.

Dembele will be prolific in the run in and he will leave in the Summer for a big fee and we will sign Odsonne.

Really like how calm he is. The ball for Moussa away to Aberdeen for second and then his performance on Sunday. Certainly showing more than Sinclair.

Very true, the guy is raw and has had very few appearances, but he at least tries to impress in every game, doesn't pick and choose unlike another young french striker at the club and I think with the correct mentoring this lad could go on to be better than Dembele!

Got mad confidence that he'll be too much for the Hun. The spaces he finds and his movement will destroy them.

He must play.

The French Eagle.

Considering he's only 19, I can't remember the last time I saw a striker of that talent, at that age, at Parkhead.
He's 20
Aye okay, as of a couple of weeks ago.

Christ, it's that bodybuilding.com thread again.

Has he ever played up top with Griffiths?
Away at Patrick Thistle in the second half.
Was good then as well if i remember correctly. He really does seem to strive as a deeper second striker.

Yep. We played much better with the two of them than we did with one up. Eduoard hasn't been effective as a lone striker. He drops too deep and the attack loses a real focal point. He has been very good playing off of another striker, though. He creates space for the other guy by drifting deep and wide etc.

I dont think Edouard is a bad player, but techincally hes a bit off both Griff and Dembele. Do you think we'd break our record transfer for him?

‘Record transfer fee’ makes it sound more dramatic than it is.

With transfer fee inflation over the past decade our £6m outlays back in 2001 are probably comparable to £12-£15m fees in today’s market at a minimum.

We have the money, and in relative terms are in a better position than we ever have been to spend that kind of money. Given our track record signing strikers over the past decade have been more hit than miss, I think securing what we know is an extremely talented player for a fee we can comfortably afford seems sensible business.

The more I think about it, the more I think Sinclair will start. Giving us the option of Eddie off the bench if needs be.

Can't remember the last time we didn't have a good striker. Sure - some of our back up signings have been shampooe but when we need a striker we get a good yin.

Success - Hooper, Stokes, Griffiths, Dembele, Samaras, Keane, McDonald.

Duds - Brozek, Pukki, Balde, Murphy, Fortune, Rasmussen, Bangura, Berget, Cole, Ciftci, Lassad, Atajic, Miku, Scepovic, Killen, Kazim-Richards :ffs:

Would put Edouard, Guidetti & Maloney (2nd spell) somewhere inbetween

It would be considerably more than we've spent on any player in the last 15years, so yeah that would be dramatic. I'd like to sign Edouard, maybe on loan again, but i'd pay about half of the £7mil if we did bid for him.

I still feel that Rasmussen and Scepovic weren't given a fair crack of the whip, but this is neither the time nor the place.
