would happily sign him in the summer. he's only 19 and can only get better. big chance of being first choice next season here too.
Would you pay 7 million for him though?
Yes, for a striker of his level £7m is nothing these days. I reckon we'll bring in about £30m in transfers this summer, would more than cover it and ensure we have quality up top.

I’d ask to keep him on loan for another season as I still don’t feel like we’ve seen enough of him to make a judgment one way or another.
I'd be surprised if that's an option, with FFP I'd say PSG will need to off load alot of players to sign Mbappe. With all the possible players leaving I think we'd be mad not to sign him.
Assuming that Neymar is going to Real Madrid sometime soon, won't PSG's spend and income on Neymar cancel each other out as far as FFP is concerned?

You would imagine so but I don't see that deal happening, the Spanish press have Madrid going for Hazard. The story last month was that PSG needed to raise 61 million in player sales by June or they breach the FFP. They sold Lucas since but they'll still be short, hopefully they want to sell Edouard too.

If that's what he costs and we get a big wedge for Dembele then so be's it. Rather that than floofing about for the next 2 years signing up Pukkis, Banguras and Nadir's up to the same value.

I'd rather spend £7m on a guy who has had a year to settle with his new team mates than multiple £2m ish signings that are simply garbage (again)

The money is there, VVD's move to Liverpool covers it and I highly doubt he'd be on a wage that'd likely break our structure

Would pay the £7m without equivocation.Whilst its alot for us it probably wouldnt get you a good Championship striker these days.We done well striking the option to buy deal for him in the first place IMO,that isnt a huge fee for other Ligue 1 clubs who probably know his potential.

Last month it was reported they needed to sell 61 million worth of players to meet the FFP criteria by June, they've sold Lucas since but they'll still need to sell more.

Neymar to Madrid won't happen any time soon so hopefully they want rid of Edouard, maybe a couple of more players for us too :naught:

If we lose Moussa and get Edouard for a fraction of the price then it's great business on our part, leaves money there for Roberts too, if it's an option, and maybe a more experienced striker too.

20 for Moussa, 2 for Erik, 3 for Armstrong, 5 for Boyata and a wee windmill off the rag & bone man for Lustig.

£15-20m for moussa, £3m x 2 for Armstrong and boyata. £2m jozo. Odds and ends for the likes of sviatchenko etc.

We'd have to pay him like a 7m pound player, our most expensive signing ever.

If we’re spending 7 million, it should be on someone who’ll automatically improve our starting XI.

Would happily buy him, think he has potential, but anything above 5 million seems steep for a guy that’s hardly torn it up in his first season here.

There is something there, but his decision making at this stage in the box is generally poor. He’s one of those players who can go from looking like a world beater to tripping over a divot in the same passage of play. He is far better playing wide off the striker than as the main man, but with Forrest, Sinclair, Musonda and, for the rest of this season at least, Roberts I just don’t see him getting the game time. Another season on loan is probably our best hope to see what he can really do.

Problem at the moment is Moussa’s value. Wouldn’t like to put a figure on it but he’ll need to considerably up his game to go for £20m. Still way short of last season’s standard.

The guy has pace, power, a brilliant touch, an eye for goal, a great shot, can hold the ball up, works hard and has a brilliant attitude.

On the downside, he can be inconsistent but in a season where the entire team has been inconsistent that's no surprise. He also has had to make way for Dembele or Griffiths at various stages so hasn't had a real run.

I don't really see it as a negative though. I think it's a well managed introduction to the club and team. The only other downside is the fee. But you can look at what other clubs pay for strikers, how much we've wasted over the years on punts, how much we have made from some of our recent transfers, the potential transfer fees from some of our current team if or when they move on, and the Walter White stash of cash we have just sitting there, and, given his age, pedigree, attributes and attitude and aptitude, you could quite easily look upon this as one of the best 'gambles' we'll take.

We will most likely be replacing Dembele for a quarter of the price and he has a lot of the exact same plus points (and is probably faster).

Let other people get hung up on the fee. It's nothing to worry about. We can afford it. We won't spend it if we can't, don't be in any doubt about that.

Edit - none of the above is a guarantee that he'll be a roaring success but that's football. We have seen enough of the player to have a safe idea of what he will bring.

I think we should buy him. Maybe worth further negotiation about the price, but I think he's worth keeping. Looks a talent and could really develop into something special.

The problem may well be, whether or not the player wants to sign permanently?

Not for me and certainly not for £7/8 million suggested.

Very raw and obv. very young. Anytime Ive seen him he has had flashes but overall play not that great.
