I think you already did.
On topic though I thought he was excellent today. At one point late in the game he wins a slide tackle on the half way line, and that level of chasing down and that work rate from such a young forward is a good sign for his career moving forward

It's a fantastic position but also a massive headache for Brendan on Tuesday. Normally a hat Trick would be a guaranteed start but to throw a kid into the game over a guy like Griff would take massive balls. Either way we should be strong enough

Like the look of him & the other players were all over him at the celebrations - which is always a good sign.
But £6m is waaay too much surely?
Supposedly paid £4.5m for N'Tcham who had a season in Serie A.
Seems to be out of our comfort zone & I honestly don't see us going for that - closer to Oliver's price would seem fair.

We've another half season to evaluate him. We'll only know if it's a suitable price in 6 months.

He needs more games...or for Moussa to be sold to be kept on longer. :ph43r:

Think Brendan said both Dembele and Bitton would be available for Tuesday. As for Edouard, he was excellent on Saturday but I would still expect Dembele or Griffiths to start. Indeed Edouard may not even make the bench. Plenty other games coming up to give him playing time.

We've no idea how good this lad could be, he's not had a run long enough to assess.

But, he managed a hat-trick against a rough and hacking, pissed off Motherwell team and was a stand-out. Looks sharp as feck.

As BR said, he's scored 4 in 3 for us now. He'll be at least on the bench for Tuesday.

I likey.

That's the best he has looked since arriving - by far. There is definitely potential there and I'd like to see more of him but talk of him starting against Anderlecht after a hat-rick against Motherwell is mental.

I wouldn't start him tomorrow night by any means, but I'd have him on the bench. It's just simple man-management, you can't leave a guy out of the squad completely after he's scored a hat-trick, regardless of how young he is or where he is in the usual pecking order.

If Moussa is fit he starts. I'd have both Griff and Ed on the bench in case things went Pete Tong and we needed to score a goal. Have all your attacking/most likely to score options at least available.

Wouldn't surprise me if we bought a striker like Edouard for £6m considering we are likely to sell Dembele for £20-30m at the end of the season.

Exactly.

It presents a reasonably calculated gamble.

I think we're slowly creeping up in terms of fees we're willing to pay for exceptional talent, and that is not for me or anyone else on this board to assess. That is Brendan's job. If he thinks he's an exceptional talent, then I don't think that £6m is unlikely.

Dempele

Id start him v Anderlecht. Pace, height, power and just off a hat trick. Well deserved. If it doesn't work can bring Griff on.
He's a serious option at least, but you've also got to think about whether one game means you leap ahead of someone who's been at the club for as long as Griffiths has. I know Griffiths hasn't been great recently but he will be here next season and Odsonne isn't guaranteed to be so if you need to keep one or the other happy, you lean towards Griff. If Dembele's out I wouldn't be surprised to see Griff start and Edouard come on from the bench

And his movement in the lead up to the first too. He was always in space, ready for a pass or cross. Then he knew exactly where to go - in front of the defender - before Sinclair crossed.
